without an operating system your computer is worthless. it HAS to have some sort of operating system. it has to be told what to do. without that instruction, its just a bunch of parts. Now if you're saying you dont like windows, or Linux, or mac OS, and prefer Dos, thats understandable. but some sort of Operating system is required for the components to work properly. they have to be told what to do.

Ask your self first: what type of Microsoft OS you would like to use and how will it help you out for your office needs or something. , if it is for games or media experiences then you should get a OS that supports your needs like "WinXP Home edittion" or if its more than that and you are a techie person then you should get the "WinXP professional".
