No, Vista validates itself every 15 minutes. It is one Microsoft's safest product. As of right now. Give it a few months somebody will hack it.

It'd be fairly pointless to get a pirated copy of Vista anyway because they'd just do if they haven't already what they've done with Windows XP and only allow you to download updates if you've got a genuine version and without those updates your computer would be so much more at risk of getting malware.

Hi. There were some free downloads of Vista beta versions, but now that the product has been released I doubt if you can get a free copy.

As far as i concern, pirated version of Vista have not release yet. Just wait....it will available some day.
According to pc pro magazine, now Vista is " put under test by hackers of the world"
Meaning that, pirated version of vista 64bit will be available soon....

I wouldn't try it, if you want a free Operating System try Ubuntu, or Fedora. I bought Vista I think it was worth it.
