Well, I was buying some shampoo today (I love the moisturizing line from Herbal Essences...looks good and smells great). I looked at some flat irons while I was in there. My hair is getting longer and I thought it would be something worth having.

Anyway, they had one that you could use on wet and dry hair. I can't remember the brand, but it said it was guaranteed to cause less damage than blow drying (it said there was no need for blow drying.) It uses steam somehow to keep the moisture in (that's what I got from the package.)

Well, has anyone ever used one like this? How well do they work? Do they dry your hair out more? I heard to use some sort of product on your hair for protection, but not sure since I've never used this on my hair. I just know that blow drying your hair everyday can't be healthy either.

I bought that flat iron when it first came out a few years ago, used it once and absolutely hated it and returned it. It made my hair a flat frizzball and didn't dry it all the way. Turning the heat up probably won't help much either...my hair isn't even thick and the highest setting didn't work for me. I've been through so many flat irons, but now that I do hair professionally, I've used a few that I really like...all of which, however, require you to dry your hair before you use the flat iron on it. Using a heat styling tool on wet hair really isn't good for the hair...it can cause the hair to become brittle, frizzy, or even cause breakage. Trust me...I've had many people in my chair with bad hair because of using a heat styling tool on wet hair.

I bought a wet/dry iron once. It was a T3 Tourmaline and cost a ridiculous $200 but I thought if it would save me time it would be worth it. Unfortunately, it didn't work well at all. It would take me several swipes to get my damp hair completely dry and straight, and ended up taking at least as much time and certainly more energy than just blowdrying and straightening. Fortunately, Sephora has a good return policy so I got my money back and went back to my old standby, the CHI.

it sounds like the remington wet to straight... a great iron, was my favorite until i got the Maxius MaxiGlide for christmas. Maxiglide is the second best (next to the chi of course), but is far more affordable then the chi

My sister uses the wet/dry for her hair and she still uses a normal hair straightner to make is less frizzy. i wouldnt suggest it! i use Chi and it works amazing. i always use products i my hair to help with the frizzy-ness but i dont really think they do all that much. Good Luck!

I have the Remington wet to dry straightener, got it at walmart for like 25 bucks, works amazing! i have brown curly hair that doesn't straighten with a blow dryer, my dad got this for me and it is a life saver, cuts time in half!
the only thing is you cant go over each strand fast, you need to really steam it slowly and only one swipe will be needed, if you go fast you have to go over it several times and it doesn't work as well.
good luck!
i love the product!

My sis uses a Chi...expensive but so nice. Don't get one with squared corners whatever you do b/c it'll pull your hair out.

I have used one before, and it pulled my hair out alot. It took awhile to use, but it worked, and my hair was smooth and shiny.
