Maybe the best way to deal with it is to focus on how he lived not how he died. That day can represent your birth and your grandfather's long life. I know it is hard to think about it in that context but remember that life is cyclical.

Life would not be so precious and special if it lasted forever. Therefor birth and death should be celebrated.

Remember times you had with him especially the ones on past birthdays.

Natural law says we are all going to die--that is a fact. We are not on a schedule. Sorry for your loss and it couldn't have happened on a worse day. Always remember the man for who he was and what he accomplished in his life--what you may have learned from him and how much he loved his family. I don't blame you for feeling upset..that is natural. Try to remember him--you shouldn't expect to forget him. Again, my condolances to you and your family---he is in a better place and I believe we will all see each other again in a better life. He will always be watching over you so feel good about that.

like most deaths, it will affect you a lot. my older brother died just two days after my b-day when i turned ten and he was just 18. it really hurt me, but in the end, i just have to remember that he isn't siffering anymore (he died of cancer) and it took a while to just feel eased from the pain, it i eventually did. everything goes on and you'll see that soon (well not too soon, but in time) you will see that even if he did die on your birthday, you'll never forget, but it won't hurt too much after some time.

Just try to let it go. People die soon or later. But I think you'll always remember about this.
