The Bible is God-breathed 2Tim3:16, written by 40 God chosen men (inspired by God). God wouldn't allow these men to mess up His Word, our guide to live by. It was written over approx. 1500yr span. We do know some heard His voice when we read some of the stories in the Old Testament. Some had visions and like today we hear the Lord as very, very strong thoughts that we KNOW are from the Lord. We all have different experiences and some may hear audible voices, I myself heard an audible voice when I was 5 and knew it was a GOOD spirit. I believe it was an angel, so people hear in different ways, how the Lord wants them to hear. Christians are considered insane by the ignorant sometimes, so what? People won't judge me in the end, only God will. Prophecies have come true from God--no mistakes in the bible.

The Prophets hear God's voice you like you hear your thoughts.
Both the Devil and God do speak to you the same way today. You can tell the source better if you understood and knew the Bible. Prophets have other gifts too like seeing visions which are waking dreams of the future.
God spoke to me more than a few times, but what he says does not make sense to many people. I can give you one example, I was thinking to myself why we have no record of Jesus from 12 years old to 30 years old in the Bible and a voice spoke back as a thought----Because if I gave you any knowledge of myself you would only use this to think of yourself different than me. This was not my thinking and I knew something strange just happened because this was not my thoughts.
This is the way it does happen in the Bible. Also God does speak to me in dreams about my future so I get a lot of De Ja Vue

Yes they did hear God, some even seen him. Yes a lot of people would call the old prophets crazy if they lived now, in fact a lot of people called them crazy when they did live. We also have prophets who live today and receive Revelation the same way that they received it back then. And yes I am a Mormon and yes I know that God speaks to people the same now as he did in the bible. Ask your self why he would change now after doing it for 1000's of years. In fact God is unchanging, he is the same now as in the beginning and will be the same in the end.

Nobody knows for sure how they wrote the Bible. They say that Mohammed got the Quran from Allah (God) through the angel Gabriel, then He would recite it and His followers would write it down. It would look like crazy behavior to an outsider. I remember reading that primative people like Native Americans would pick the craziest person they had to be the priest because they believe he was closer to the spirtual world. Back to the Bible, the Book of Revelation sure is bizarre; sounds like a bad dream or hallucinations to me (I don't want to offend anyone, but it sure is strange). A lot of people believe in religious visions and so on, my brother used to speak in tongues. Mental health professionals say that is okay as long as it's appropriate to the person's culture.

The Holy Ghost told them what to write. (the holy ghost is God) We dont "hear" God these days because no one is listening. He is speaking to us all the time, but we dont take the time to listen to what he has to say. And no the bible was not written by insane men. The prophecies are already comming true.

The prophets of old were not accepted by the Jewish hierarchy of faith and were killed. What happened was their prophesies came true and that is why their writings made it into the O.T. With Moses being the exception to the rule.
God makes His choices for His reasons. However if you draw close to God He will draw close to you, and then you can hear His voice too. And you can become a modern day prophet with a message for our time. GO FOR IT !!!

Sure thing. Jesus was one of two things.
1. A Mad Man
2. GOD
I have heard GOD's voice in words.
I also hear GOD's voice by listening, watching and praying.
I am most certainly Insane. I am a peculiar person. A pilgrim, A royal priest of a kingdom that is not of this world.
I wouldn't change it for the whole world. Litteraly.

Divine inspiration. God does not speak like you or I, most of the time people do not know God well enough to have Him speak to them nor would they listen. Your conscience is part of, one of the many ways; God may choose to speak to you... In the Bible there are a couple of references to that in Romans 2:14-16, 14 Even Gentiles (non-Jewish), who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. 15 They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right. 16 And this is the message I proclaim—that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life.
I can see why you would lean towards insanity but God said that the unbelievers would say & have said exactly that, they even accused Christ of being insane, & by most terms today He probably would be deemed insane of the simple fact that He sacrificed Himself choosing to die a horrible, painful, humiliating death on the cross so that you wouldn't have to die eternally by God's powerful perfect judgment! Jesus was perfect & sinless, able to cover your debt of spiritual death, He said, “Here I’ll die so you don’t have to, just believe in me & that is enough.” He did something completely for nothing! Crazy huh? Well, I for one am grateful!

FYI Over 2000 prophesies have been fulfilled. The chances of only 3 prophesies from OT being the same person are incredible, the chances of over 30 phenomenal. Insanity or Truth, how smart are you?

I'm agnostic, but I know that I don't believe in the Bible. If there is a God, I don't think that people can understand His powers and whatnot. How could a mere few humans possibly make a book of rules for all humanity to come?
