I mean really they talk all this Cr@p about family values then they scoff at scientific evidence of global warming. They want unregulated factories and oil production, coal burning, Nuclear waist. They get their way our children will be praying in public schools that they had clean air to breath water to drink, and they didn't all have Cancer.

Again, this is a great question, Frenchie!!!!

One person who answered this question said something about nuclear energy being the only non-global warming source of energy. But, how can solar possibly contribute to global warming?

Why is it that we don't have totally solar powered homes and cars? Could it be because the powers that be would lose too much of their trillion dollar profits, if these alternatives were actually developed, to the point they would be cost effective. But Corporate greed stands in the way of everything. What do you think the real reason is that Marijuana is illegal? Do you really believe the government cares about our health? It is illegal, because hemp, is an excellent, renewable source of paper, so the paper industry is against it because they would rather cut down the rain forest. Hemp also makes the strongest rope, and the longest lasting and most durable cloth for clothing. Of course, the cotton industry is against that. Why do you think that is? There is no other reason but corporate greed. This thesis...the ills of corporate greed, could go on and on. There is no concern for the planet, or for the people, unless they belong to the top of the economic pyramid.

I am what I would consider to be a conservative and yes I do care.
I also care that we are honest about the facts.
I am 100% behind alternatives to energy production.

Global warming I think is something beyond our control. Now that I said that do not misconstrue it. I do not mean that we can't be more conservationist. I mean that no matter what we do we cannot control global warming and cooling.

But we can be more efficient.

Here is an alternative energy project that I have been keeping up on and am totally for and really wish would get into full production.
Its called themal depolymerization and it basically breaks down waste ( any type of waste but farm waste is what they are using in test plants ) and separates it into minerals oil and water.

It would clean up the environment and essentially recycle stuff that currently goes into landfills. Its setbacks have been money to get it into large enough production to lower the cost of the process and the government isnt helping as they do not give them alternative energy tax credits.

Conservatives value God's creation, care about their families and want what is best for their children and grandchildren. Do not confuse them with the greedy corporate interests controlling the US government, using money and marketing to push just the right buttons with just enough voters. What have liberals by your definition done? The bottom line is that both major parties are dominated by special interests and big business, and don't care about the environment. This is why people like Ralph Nader exist. Thankfully Al Gore has brought a lot of attention with his movie Inconvenient Truth which is piercing the corporate marketing snowjob campaign of creating doubt and indecision about environmental issues in the public mind. I am a Republican, I care about the environment, I am conservative, and I am still waiting to hear from a candidate that has a realistic chance of getting elected that has strong positions and policy recommendations for the environment. I wish Gore was running for President again!

What a crock!

Conservatives believe in wise uses of our resources, and that includes money. Is it worth a BILLION dollars in costs to install pollution control equipement to reduce pollution that would save the lives of 100 people? Could that BILLION dollars not be better used to provide basic health care or better nutrition that will save even more people? Better yet, how about thousands of more jobs, that will enable families to take care of themselves better? That's the crux! We don't want unregulated factories and oil production. We want sensible regulation.

You enviro tree huggers don't understand the concepts of cost-benefit analysis. You've got to look at the costs and benefits of doing something AND not doing something, and doing something else instead.

Tell me, if we are running out of oil as we are told (never mind that's a crock too), then doesn't it make sense to drill for more? Sure, develop alternative fuels and sources of energy, but also work on securing our existing energy supplies too. But the liberals oppose every single measure to increase domestic production of oil.

Nuclear power is truly the only non-global warming (if you believe in it) power source. To date, all the hi-level waste from all the US nuclear power reactors can fit in a storage area the size of the average high school gymnasium. Are you telling me we can't store that small amount of waste safely nowhere in this country? Do you have any idea of the ways it can be stored? It's not in some leaky metal drums. It's fused into glass like substance that doesn't corrode, leak and is highly impact resistant. And much of this fuel could be reprocessed and reused, except the liberals forbid us to do that, thereby only making that much more of the waste you so abhor.

New nuclear reactors are physically incapable of melting down. The fuel is encased in ceramic, and even when all the cooling pumps are shut off and the control rods are pulled out. The ceramic naturally inhibits the reaction from getting out of control.

So what group is it that opposes new development of nuclear power?

30 years ago, the consensus was the the earth was cooling. Now the consensus is that the earth is warming. 30 years from now, what will it be? Never mind that earth's climate is constantly in flux, and has seen warmer periods in the last 1,000 years than we have now. Ask yourself this question. Who is pushing the panic about global warming? Is it the scientists themselves? Hardly. It's the politicians and the media.

There is little hard science in global warming. Only a theory and conjecture. We know CO2 causes a greenhouse effect. There's more CO2. The earth is getting warmer. Must be caused by man, right? So why did the earth get warmer and cooler before man generated much CO2?

Do yourself a favor and start looking beyond what the liberal media tells you. Start digging up your own facts and listen to what the opposition is saying. Start by reading the series of articles below on global warming.

One last question. Al Gore has been sounding the environmental and global warming alarm for quite a while now. He had 8 years in the White House. What the hell did he ever do to solve any of this? These global warming pushers aren't interested in solving any problem. They are interested in using global warming to regain power. The foreign interests support it because they want the US punished for our success, and to make us pay far more to help the developing world. No other country is actually doing anything on global warming, other then paying it lip service and berating the USA and our government.

I wonder about this same question myself. I think the ones doing the most harm probably don't have children, only their own greedy interests to satiate.

All I want to say is that I hear so many hypocritical conservatives who say they care about the environment, then vote for a scum-bag like GWB, who has done TERRIBLE HORRIBLE things to the environment. (like war and more)

Or say they care, and then invest all their money in oil corps, or other awful corporations. Where is your money invested you rich hypocrites? What are the companies you are supporting and what are their effects on the environment?

They don't care, they think that the Sky God is going to come down and make them fly up in the air to be with them.

They call it "The Rapture" and they think it is going to happen any minute now, so they don't care what they do to the earth.
