It hurt pretty bad, but i love it so much i am going to do it again. It took a little while extra to heal for me, but that was because I had to wear shoes that covered it for work. I would suggest wearing flip flops whenever possible, and if you have to wear socks and shoes fold up a paper towel and stick it between your sock and skin. Change it often, and whenever possible let it air out and then moisten it. I worked in a resturaunt, and we had to check the bathrooms every 15min... so i would change out the paper towel and apply my A&D ointment (the original kind, not the one w/ zinc oxide) every time i would check the bathroom.) It healed kinda funky at first, but now it is perfect. To prevent fading, put sunscreen on it every time it will be exposed to sunlight. Good Luck!

I got a massive tattoo starting on my foot going up my leg and I wont lie the foot part really hurt much more than any other place. You have to keep breathing cos you'll feel like holding your breath. It heals a lot slower than on other parts, the leg part healed in about 2 weeks but the foot and ankle took over a week longer. The ink didn't bleed, and the foot tends to swell up, mine did. So try not to wear tight shoes at first, let it breathe as much as you can so it heals better. Good luck

30 years ago they may have given out ointment but today, there are to many liabilities with skin reactions and what not. now-a-days. any good artist will tell you A&D ointment. if it is good enough to heal a baby's diaper rash with their sensitive skin it will heal any tattoo on any skin. no one i know has ever had a reaction to it. tattos kinda feel like a burning piece of glass, sometimes a razorblade, and sometimes it just itches. each different spot of each tattoo will be different from inch to inch. sometimes after the tattoo while it is healing the tattoo will begin to peel like a sunburn and the skin will be colored. this is not ink coming out, this is ink trapped in the outer layer of skin that did not go deep enough and it simply peels off. other times it may scab. this will destroy th good ink that is deep enough and leave a nasty scar. proper use of A&D will prevent this. the fading is a result of your outer layer of skin healing and becoming like a thin layer of scar tissue. you are seeing the ink under this layer. the better care you take the less noticable this layer is, therefore the less faded your tattoo will look.

my foot tattoos hurt the most out of anything i have ever had. each one took two hours plus and it was sheer agony but totally worth it! i got them done at different times but they swole up so big and i had to hobble around. you can't wear shoes for two weeks so be sure to make sure you'll be able to wear flip flops. when you get it done you should go straight home and elevate your foot. for the first week i tried to keep mine as elevated as possible because your feet are so far from your heart the circulation is not as good and feet generally take longer to heal. mine usually take about 16-18 days to completely heal where as my other tattoos take 10-14 days. good luck!

I have three tattoos, one on my foot and two on my back (getting more on my back).... they didn't hardly hurt at all.. but my foot??? HOLY HELL!!! it hurt sooooo bad I told myself I'd never get another tattoo. Haha. just not on my foot. But i LOVE it. It is pretty small even and it hurt bad. it is my zodiac sign, aquarius, in blue and green wave like markings. very beautiful. Took about two weeks. the color didn't bleed out... the skin just flakes off like normal. put A&D on it and don't go in the sun until it is healed. All tattoos will fade after a long time... that's just the way it is. i have had mine for two years and still adore it. :)

it hurt like someone scraping my foor with a knife. It bled a little, but not too much! iT DOES tend to fade more than other tattoos, and i had to keep it exposed for a while. I wuld reccomend getting it during the summer so that you can wear sandals til it heals.

it hurt like crazy when it was getting done (remember to breathe), but it only took like 10 mins to put on. it took about 3 weeks to heal, and during that time, i had to keep it clean and wipe it with baby wipes about 3 times a day. so far it hasn't faded much (it's been about a year since i got it), and it hasn't blead at all. best of luck!

it was the worst pain..i got a ladybug, and it was the longest 5 mins of my life!! was planning on making a garden...but my plans have changed....it's just staying a ladybug...hurt too much...took about 2 weeks to heal, the first week, i wore a sock that i cut part of the top out, so it wouldn't rub and wore open-top (flip-flop)...yes the ink did bleed the first day or 2...it looks just as good now as it did a year ago when i got it! you gotta figure...it's going to hurt like hell...it's right on bone!
