what part of her head? She could have dry skin or if she is scratching near her ears it could be ear mites. Cats for some reason get mites more often than dogs. The other thing is, and this will sound silly, if she is scratching below her ears she could have a yeast infection in her ears which is usually caused by floppy ears or to much moisture. Finally, if you changed her eating habits at all she could be having an allergic reaction. Stress can also cause hair loss. and male pattern baldness. LOL

I agree with er vet tech, sounds like ear mites, carry her to the vet asap, they have a one time treatment for it. I said asap because this drives cats nuts, they can feel them moving around in their ears, but can't get their paws in there to scratch! It's like having an persistant itch behind your eardrum that a Q-Tip can't reach!

I t may be dry skin too but fleas are probly most likely the problem. Take your cat to the Vet so she does not suffer.

I agree with every one about the vet. Cats are usually very obessive about anything on, in, or bothering their skin or fur. I notice all my cat does other than terrorize everything, including my german shepard, is clean him self, or sleep.

Have you had her checked for ear mites (a microscopic parasite that cause an ear infection with dark discharge)?
