there are many ways.
(i am not actually Wiccan, i am a Celtic Pagan.)
some use stones and crystals to absorb negative energy and to promote the new flow of positive energy.
some use their hands to do the same thing. taking the negative into themselves to disperse it later.
some use herbs and plants. and still more use the power granted by the gods.
most magickal healings begin with cleansing the aura. and drawing healthy positive energy to the aura. from there the aura will help the body to heal.
after that drawing negative energy from the body and the person's living areas will help the body to heal. when a person is free of negative energy and has a solid flow of positive energy the body will become more healthy. and in many cases will be able to fight off any disease on it's own.

Me? I go and see the doctor. :-)
But if someone were to come to me and ask for a healing spell, the form of the spell would be determined by the person's need. Usually I appeal to a God/dess associated with healing for help, then focus and direct my intent onto something connected with the sick person to drive the illness out of thier body. I've done this a few times in my time as a Wiccan, and usually the person in question starts to heal more quickly or takes a turn for the better shortly after the spell is cast. Cause and effect, psychological boost, or mere coincidence? I don't know for certain, but if someone comes to me asking for healing, I'm happy to oblige them.
Edited to add this caveat: Sometimes it's simply a person's time to die, and working healing magic will only prolong what should be a natural process. Therefore, when I work healing magic on anyone who's seriously ill, I add the phrase: "And if it should be their time to pass from this life, let them go peacefully and with dignity." Death is part of life. Sometimes it simply has to be accepted.

Multiple ways. The person being healed needs to be willing to be healed by the natural energies or magick if thy arn't the healing well not work. Prayer can be used for healing, crystal healing, color healing, opening and cleaning the chakras, meditation and the list just goes on expetually if you get into Wiccan Shamanism.
