Do you think we can all get along here, if we all would offer a prayer, that God would ,"Open the eyes of their hearts", and that the Holy Spirit would fill their hearts with a Love, like that which they have never felt... pray very hard for "compassion and understanding", of one-another...
So that people will stop being "Hurt, or Mis-treated" here on YAHOO! ANSWERS, for our Beliefs?".
Who will pray with me that we can all get along and teach one-another, without "hurtful, spiteful", words?
And Rather use words that "Enlighten, Lift eachother up, and make others feel good". Rather than hurtling insults.
I know this is sort of a lengthy question, but I feel like..."Many of us who believe, and want to try and share our beliefs, without cramming it down anothers throat", try to do or say something that is "good", and we get "trampled" on by those who are non-believers, or just not sure what they believe.
If we believers come together in a prayer, God will ANSWER, on YAHOO! ANSWERS.

We are "entertained by Angels everyday".
I am "Humbled" everyday on this site.
Sorry to offend, don't want you who have the "free gift of choosing not to believe" to be somehow "forced", or "made" to believe.
Obviously that is why God gives you the "choice to choose"
Wow, hmmm.
Is there no way to "word a question" without making others fangry.
That is what I was trying "not to do".
Sorry.

Wow, thank you all...
Who-ever you may be.
you are who you are.
Did not mean to offend.
Just tired and bored I guess.
And even by "thinking I was doing something or saying something good"...I offended people.
One of these days I will ask a really "good" question.

I appreciate the fact that you think "praying" for me will "open the eyes of my heart", but maybe you should also pray for the Christians who condemn me and others like me for our beliefs. I have never "trampled" on a Christian for their beliefs, yet I have been told that I would "Go to hell", that Buddhism is "Idolatry" and that my "Zen beliefs will not save me". My Mom is a Christian so I make a point not to bash Christians. Why don't you pray to come to terms with the fact that not all people believe in "God" and that is okay? BTW Buddhism is one of the few religions that teaches tolerance of all religions and beliefs. Peace.

The best thing you can do is just be respectful of others opinions. Yeah, I know sometimes someone will ask a perfectly harmless question and they get attacked for it but that's just the nature of the beast. People are mean online because they can do so without any real consequence. No prayers needed. Just live your life and ignore anyone who bashes you or your beliefs. They just want your attention anyway and at the end of the day, you don't know them and they don't affect your real life.
Get a thicker skin and let others find their own way in life. As long as they're not hurting your real life, their beliefs shouldn't bother you. We're all entitled to choose what we believe. Live your life by setting a good example and save the prayers for people that really really need them.

I highly doubt praying will change ignorant people.. be they believers or non-belivers. It isnt just atheists and agnostics spewing insults on here, it is people from all religions or lack thereof. Praying will do nothing to solve the problem, only education, knowledge and enlightenment can make a difference... unfortuantely it may be too late for some so we ahd better work on our children who will be the next generation it is through them we will make a difference but it wont be by encouraging more religion thats for sure.. "The only good is knowledge and the only evil is ignorance"
In most cases religion(of any kind) = ignorance, narrowmindedness and bigotry.... therefore religion = the only evil, ignorance. Logically we have to conclude that if we remove religion from the world or the ignorance from religion then and only then can we solve the problem. How do we do that? With KNOWLEDGE not prayer...

You obviously don't understand that a non believer does not need to be prayed for. A non believer does not believe in God, therefore does not believe in prayer, what good would praying do? I do agree that everybody just needs to get along and stop degrading each other about religious beliefs. I am not perfect, I judge people sometimes, but really, how do you know that your religion is the ONE. Why does there have to be ONE? Maybe the muslim faith is the ONE, maybe those guys that killed themselves because Haleys comet was approaching were the ONE's. Maybe, just maybe, we are all just waiting for something bigger and don't know what it is, what is wrong with a different belief? Christianity is very new, why do you think it is right? What about all those people before Christianity, are they in Hell? I seriously don't think I will be punished for having a mind of my own. I am a good person, I go out of my way in order to not hurt anybody's feelings, and I try to help my friends and neighbors when needed. If I am able of course. I am a very understanding person, and accepting of those different than me, like you. I am rambling now, I just want to point out that people have different opinions and beliefs and they are not necessarily wrong..I am not saying you are wrong either, you may just be right. I will not know til the day i die and I find out for myself, but If there is a Heavan and a Hell, I don't think I will go to Hell because I don't practice religion. that to me is hypocrytical because there are so many Christians that are wrong in what they do, and so many non Christians that are very good people. That in itself makes me believe that if I am a good person, I will be rewarded, even if it is here on earth...I will be happy with my life knowing that I made at least one person happy. Sorry, I am just trying to make you understand that there is not only one right way. I am not atheist by the way, I am agnostic, I really don't know what to believe and am not just gonna pick something because I grew up with it, or am accustomed to it or it just suits me. I try to do what feels right to me, and yes, we are all products of our society and I am influenced by religion because Christianity dominates the world I grew up in, but i am tolerant of them all, even the Haley's comet guys, even though I think they are weird:)

Wow. This isn't nice at all. All you're asking is to make others conform to your ways so that you can be comfortable, whether it's good for them or not. What if it worked? They'd probably feel lonely and confused, have problems in relationships, and have difficulties with friends and a new community. How would you like it if a non-Christian did that to you? If I as a Witch wished those things for you, you'd say I'm cursing you, and you'd be right.

i think of that's advantageous, nevertheless i don't likely care what they do. i'm particular they recommend nicely, yet i don't discover it presumptuous as we've only had a theoglogical talk and understand my perspectives. And... uncertain what you recommend by rejoinder. do not sacrifice the goat till you intend on utilising the beef for nutrition.

I believe it's more respectful to let them be. When they want our help, they will come to us. Doing anything else, even praying for them, is disrespecting their beliefs, which is hypocritical when we ask them to respect us. When we lose their respect, we are the last people they will go to for help. Many disrespectful Christians have made sure of this.

Doesn't sound like a very nice idea to me, asking your God to reach inside people's heads and reprogram them. In fact, it sounds rather disrespectful to request that other people be reshaped into an image that you find more pleasing, just because you want it to be so.
The willingness of some Christians to completely ignore the dignity and autonomy of other human beings is, sadly, all too apparent in your post. I suspect that what you mean by "teach one-another" is "have those godless atheists and agnostics listen to us and agree with us because WE ARE RIGHT!!!"
If you'd be genuinely respectful of other people and their beliefs, maybe we could actually have a mutually enriching dialogue.

You can prey as much as you like, but it won't make me believe there is a deity of any kind. Anyway, what makes people think that "God" wants people to believe in him anyway? Surely he would provide some proof of his existence if that was the case?

Father GOD I lift up Yahoo Answers to you and ask that we would have a spirit of peace and Christ likeness here. May we truly be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Give us boldness to answer in spirit and truth. I pray for my brothers and sisters as they seek to answer questions. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
