Our house has very hard water and my skin and hair is always very very dry after I shower. Is there anyway that i can prevent this without having to buy a water softner?
Also, if there are any types of soaps or lotions that can help preventing dry skin, that would be great.

Dont worry, your not the only one! I use ION Hard Water Shampoo and Conditioner (Sally's Hair Care Salon) and just Olay soap bars ( its got moisturizing ingredients). These should keep your hair and body looking like you bathe on Pure Water.

Here is a cant miss solution, try castile soaps, these are soaps that are rich in natural oils that cleanse the skin like no other, wont clog pores. Go to baar.com and order the Olivae soap and get the lotion Natura Magic skin lotion, to apply after shower on ur face. it contains peanut oil, olive oil, rose water and lanolin. Its very inexpensive and worth it.good luck and beauty

Try the shower filters, like AQUASANA and use baby soaps or mild soaps. My skin is very sensitive and I have used baby soaps, Aveeno soaps, and Cetaphil. I use baby oils from Johnson's and Neutrogena Oils too.
For your hair, try a glass of cold water with apple cider vinegar before you leave the shower, and don't you worry about the vinegar's smell because it evaporates as your hair dries.
