What is the big deal here? They are toys. Not real life. I am tired of them ending up in the hunting forum. Is anybody else?

Tube dude these kids aren't responsible. They are playing war and shooting at people. From where I stand that is not a good way to promote gun safety.

I think we should all go over to toys and ask hunting and firearm questions.

I think everyone is missing the point. We have the categories for a reason. Just because airsoft looks like a gun doesn't mean it should be in hunting. It is a toy so it should be in toys. There is no ambiguity here.
I am not disparaging them as I said they are an awesome toy. They have a section. Besides, saying we shouldn't click on them is a bit trite. First they often have misleading titles like "what am I doing wrong" second the reason there are titles is so people can sort through the questions.

We can't stop you guys and nobody is going to try that hard. If your answer when somebody suggests you are doing something wrong is "it is my right" expect to see your rights disappear. Yes you do have a right to be an asss, but don't expect people to welcome it. Maybe you should do the right thing not everything you think you have a right to do

as far as the gun safety issue goes these guys shoot each other

If you do not like them, stop clicking on the questions!
They are legitimatlly used with great acclaim and success by police and military for training purposes. They are also a much more realistic alternative to paintball in a game where realism = fun.
I wish they had a paintball/airsoft section seperate from hunting on Yahoo Answers, but they don't. They are here because the people interested in them are the same people who own or will own real guns. These are the folks who will vote against further resterictive firearms laws as they are proposed in the future, as well. Are you sure you want to alienate them? They are friends of gun ownership and hunting rights, and should be treated as such.

Remember that there are many young people posting questions here. They are developing an interest in firearms and it is the responsibility of us "sages" to guide the young people. Today's air soft shooter may be tomorrows soldier defending our freedom.

We all started with a BB gun and graduated to 22 rimfire then centerfire. Drill in the 4 laws of gun safety and keep the second amendment alive and well.

i agree with the comment that air softs do not promote gun safety
i wont let my son have one but he owns 3 true firearms. I dont want the confusion to be possible that it is okay to shoot a less powerful gun at people. wierd huh? I think they were created by the anti's to promote hypocracy in gun owners....no offence to the air soft users but point one and me and shoot me with it..see what happens LOL

I just think they should have a seperate area for "firearms, etc.", to include anything that could be related to a gun, cannon, etc., because Hunting does not always have to do with guns and there is NO place for questions about trapping.

My firearms aren't toys, you have to be 21 to use them. I know what you mean, I have never seen an airsoft, but I could use a sledgehammer on one just fine. Toy Boys go home!

Don't really give a high flying crapola, but SOMEBODY ought to put 'em in tha kiddy TOY section, where they belong and leave this section for the ADULTS! In fact, if somebody were on their toes, they'd have a section strictly for firearms and reloading alone!
