I aint seen a windows op sys that didnt take at least a year to get the bugs out....I choose to wait! Some of you might be wise to also! Think of all that software you paid a fortune for that may never be compatible and how some of you may not be able to go back to your earlier version! I have already seen tons of people looking for hardware drivers! For those of you who feel fearless, thanx for being microsofts guinea pigs!

If you are a computer junky, then sure..take the plunge..

however be prepared.....

As with all new releases of Microsoft OS's, While they are tested in labs,,, using in the real world are two different things...

As users get and use Vista, they discovery bugs, qwuarks... an unless your willing to suffer through this then wait...

I would reccomend waiting until
1) There is more support (Someone to fix it that knows how)
2) The release of SP1 (most bugs get fix'd)

While you will get responses saying how great it is,,, with it being so new, they haven't run into a problem yet... If your a new users stay with what you got... ole faithful.....

If you do make the switch, Backup all you data!!!!

Anywho hope this helps

My advice is that you should wait at least one year on Vista. The tech updates on this new OS that I have read indicate that there are still some bugs in it that need to be worked out. Also, the price of this new OS may drop some by the end of that time period. Lastly, when you do upgrade to Vista, make sure that you are getting the full version of this OS.

No. I upgraded to Windows 98, then 98SE, which worked not badly for the time, then later 2000, and ME, which were terrible. I still often use my old faithful 98SE, it is simple. I have Windows Media Center 2005, which is excellent but even XP took a while to become good. I plan to wait 6 to 12 months before upgrading to Vista.

Vista is a terribly underwhelming experience. As was XP. What was the problem with Win2k?

There are a lot of computability issues with hardware and software at the moment, it would probably be best to wait about a year from now to upgrade if you really want to.

actually i'm using it right now. i havent noticed any speed issues, but then again, i dont play games either. it was free for me though, through the university. it looks really nice, lots of cool added features. it takes a little while to get used to it though.

depends on your system specs though.
i'm running on a Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, 1gb 667mhz ddr2 ram, tablet pc. however, just intel crappy integrated graphics.

Do your want your PC to slow down and work worse than ever before? That is the question!

Not until I buy another computer. Isn't worth the money to upgrade my O/S on my current computer.
