He is now 6 years old, he eats french fries, pizza snacks, yogurt and pancakes. When he was a toddler we gave him green beans and he acted like he was gagging he has been to the Dr. and they say he will outgrow it. We give him vitamins it is hard to give him lunches for school, he also eats ritz crackers once in a while, I was told to take away all of the food he likes at home and he will eventually start to eat p b and j sandwiches, etc. WHAT DO YOU THINK, we need some suggestions in anyone else has had a picky eater at home. I really don't think he will starve, thanks

i happen to have nephews that wont eat much either they are accustom to fast food and to make it even worse when at home their parents give in to them if they would rather have snacks opposed to eating an actual dinner..when they are at my house i make dinner for the whole family i make what i want and they eat it or not period...no snacks, no drinking 50 glasses of juice to get full...either eat your food or be hungary...they also will pick over everything i make and complain they dont like crust on the bread, they dont like the skin on the hot dogs, they dont like mayonnaise but once again its eat what i make or be hungary...they key is to not cater to a child who feels he will eat only what they please LIFE doesnt work that way with food or anything else the sooner they learn that the better off they are!

Most kids that age are fussy eaters -- heck, I have a 12 year old son who's STILL a fussy eater. Unless there is some medical evidence that he isn't getting the nutrition he needs, I'd let him eat what he wants. He's taking vitamins, which should help in getting his body in balance. Depriving him of his favorite foods will only make him angry and will make you guys look bad to him. Don't give up introducing new foods to him, though. It's important for him to know that you are going to keep showing him what foods are good for him. My son "says" he hates corn, yet he will eat the heck out of corn on the cob. He "says" he hates tomatoes, but he loves spaghetti sauce and pizza sauce. He "says" he doesn't like potatoes but loves french fries. If you continue to be concerned about his nutrition, you could have him try some PediaSure -- it tastes great and kids love it!

i have self assurance you've Costco in Alaska. Their Kirkland Signature line of kibble is highly rated, and properly-priced at round $25 for 40# (per chance pricier in Alaska). The pup you may actually have better energy than the usual ones. yet i ought to reworm for each thing, which incorporates tapeworm, to be on the possibility-free part. A unfavorable fecal isn't unavoidably sturdy as eggs at the instantaneous are not handed in each move. A loose pattern may also yield a pretend unfavorable. Coccidia is yet another chance. Worming again gained't harm your canines. in case you do this, and he nonetheless does not benefit weight, he ought to have absorption issues. regularly that should be suspect in mild of ways many times he defecates, yet with 5 cups of nutrition per day, the conventional bowel moves are comprehensible.

I know exactly what youre going through. My seven yr old nephew is a picky eater also. His favorite thing to eat is either chicken nuggets or chicken selects (McDonalds). If we were to take him to a restuarant...he'd look for chicken strips on the kids menu. At one point we were begging him to try different foods but he just wouldnt listened. So, we all decided to explain to him the benefits of having a healthy and balanced diet. We also began to slow down on buying him things such as chicken nuggets, or too many snacks that might ruin his appetite when its close to dinner time. Trust me, your grandson will come around. And if you get desperate, explain to him that if he wants to grow up to be big and strong like one of his role models, he'd have to be healthy, etc. Good luck.

The only thing I can suggest is what I did at one point. My daughter tried that. I told her, this is what we are having for dinner. You don't have to eat it if you don't want to. Period DO NOT FIX HIM ANYTHING ELSE TO EAT. Do not MAKE him eat. Just prepare him a plate and say... here ya go. Find something you like. He will eat.. He might nibble at first, and it might take him awhile..but he will come around if you don't cave and fix him his favs. There is nothing saying that you can't fix him his favs occasionally too. I would say no more than 2 times a week though.

Most all kids are picky, just keep trying, keep serving them on their plate, Eventually they may try it and find they like it. Might take 20 years before they realize they need it. I have a few decades on me and I still wont eat squash. Sorry just wont. Good luck
Oh letting them help make the salad or something might help get him to eat a few veggies. + kids love helping out.

What helped me was to Learn About the various healthy foods everyone else was eating. I felt suspicious for some reason, & wanted to be very cautious. (Maybe it had to do with my mom 'sneaking' raw milk into the cup when she was weaning me from the bottle. YUCK! I spit it into a napkin!) Anyway ...
I suggest teaching him about Where various vegetables come from, How they grow ... Even better -- get him Involved in Growing some of them in a home garden! I don't know Any child who wouldn't want to taste the 'Fruits of his Own labors'! (;
