I totally understand what you are saying. When a black man dates a non-blk woman what drives him to put down black women or better yet tell us to take 'tips' from their non-blk woman? Has he really moved on? - No, he hasn't!
If it was true love then why and how does he have the time to talk sh!t? Why brag, continue to complain, etc.? Catch my drift?...
Those type of men use their woman as a crutch to get attention. Sorry but so true...It doesn't make any sense to date someone out of your race just to TRY and hurt a race of women. Good luck!
Oh and not all black men are this way so...here's a ! It'll be okay.

I understand where you are coming from. If my current relationship ends, I would be done with black men also. NEVER a white man though. Some people do not see the statistics and what is happening in Hollywood. Black women are dating oustide thier race in record breaking numbers now.

Please stop putting every person of a particular race in a box. We are all not the same. Discontinue the racism and ignorance always portrayed against blackmen and/or women. Why not focus on another race of people for a change?

I agree with Kevin G. It is the other way around as far as black men giving up on the black woman. You also have to remember that a lot of people have a preference as to what and who they like. This is coming from a black women. I date all colors because were all one race and that's the human race. Everything else is insignificant.

I can't say if what you're saying is true. I date outside my race but I don't think anyone should be disrespected for no reason at all. I get respect from all races.

Though very hurt and angry at times by black men, I will never give up on them. I will always love black men, though I have given up on the reality that I may actually have a family with a black man, I still feel very much connected to them and love them deeply. I know our issues trace back to the roots of slavery where self hatred and pain plagues many of our people. People who have not shared in our history of pain could never understand.
Many african american women feel as though african american men have given up on them. In a world where people of african american descent have been mistreated, for years, it can be very difficult to trust. With no connection to our past ancestors, language, culture, etc, our strength lied in our connection to each other. This connection is no longer important for some and this has been difficult for african american women. For those men who choose to give up, I feel saddened because like myself many african american women feel we have subjected ourselves to much in order to protect and nuture them who were not allowed to be men at all. And in return for this love, support and nurturing, some of us feel our men have turned their backs on us. We have been called names, put down, abused, and left with children all for the sake of being with a caucasian/ latina/ asian woman. Today this turmoil, hate, stress, anger, pain, depression etc has taken its toll on some of us and we have decided that for the sake of our own personal happiness, we must move on from this need to be connected. We have decided to be happy. It is unfortunate that this is how things have become, but hope for future possibilities of reconciliation.

its funny how ELIZY can talk about the "typical black woman attitude" being what is stoppin them...when all of my male friends say that our "attitude" is what makes them LOVE black women..... they dont see it as attitude...they see it as strength and every REAL man needs a STRONG woman to have his back..n not just hang on to his coat tails
i havent given up on black men at all...theres nothin..i mean NOTHIN like a good, strong black man. and there are still some good ones out there. alot of ppl are jus lookin in the wrong place! youre not gonna find a "GOOD BLACK MAN" while you are shakin it up on the stage at a club.....its funny but thats where most of my friends go to look for a "man" lol.
as a woman, i will say you get what u deserve. if you carry yourself as though you will put up with any ol guy...then youre gonna get any ol guy. if you carry urself as a h*, then youre gonna be treated as a h*.....but if you carry yourself as a queen- trust me, you will get treated as such.
its jus about waiting for someone who is up for the challenge.... as well as someone who is worth the challenge. a queen shouldnt settle for less than a king.... but alotta females settle jus cuz they dont wanna be alone....
and alotta females complain about how hard a good man is to find...but then when they find one, they dont know what to do with him! hence, turnin a good man bad....(who, in turn, turns a good woman bad) its all a cycle....and it goes for all races for real. not jus african americans....
so, ladies...dont give up on men...but love yaself, and dont settle for less..and u will end up getting what u deserve and more!

I agree with Kevin G, I never expect a black man to show interest in me. I get startled when one does. I just want someone who is going to treat me right and be honest with me, I don't care about their color.
