It's not just Unbelievers, there are also Christians who will tease or gossip about other Christians who try to do the right thing. What scriptures help you deal with ridicule and gossip from people like this, so that you remain strong despite the opinions of others?

I do well 90% of the time, because I know only God's opinion matters, but I'm human and there are times I get weak, and that's when it bothers me, especially when it's relatives or people close to me.

For instance, I refused to exaggerate about my income to receive extra money for something. And a few people close to me acted as if I was being silly or acting too holy. This is just one of many examples. Some people even get angry & I don't get that.

There are non-christians who experience this as well when they're honest. But I'm looking for a Christian perspective along with scriptures you read during times like this. I don't see the point of lieing to obtain something, if God is going to supply for your needs.

No, it's not really persecution, because violence or hateful remarks are not directed towards me. It's similar to passive mocking or teasing. It's not done overt but it's done in a way that I pick up on it.

First off, I serve God and don't worry much over silly people. I might read from Psalms, or many times I just prefer to put my own thoughts on paper. I like to write little poems or prayers to God, that express how I'm feeling. Most of them are just babbling, but some of them are beautiful to me. Or maybe some quite prayer with music in the background, I like music without words. I've discovered some inspiring fragrances I like to keep around. Figure out your favorite ways to be in touch with God, then when you're feeling down that is what you do to get back up.

2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
Hebrews 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
The Bible does teach if you suffer No persecution then you are illegitimate children of Lucifer; Hebrews 12:8
But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye b@stards, and not sons.

2 Tim 2:1-19 NIV) You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

(2:3-7 KJV) Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. {4} No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. {5} And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully. {6} The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits. {7} Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

Don't worry about what others think. Give this problem to God to handle. He is wiser than you,or me. He will show you how to handle the situation. After you give it to God just forget it.It ain't nothin to get hung about.

Do not try to justify your integrity to others. It needs no justification. Learn to stand on your own two feet.
