I had a similar surgery a few months ago. I really am not sure how you would do this with 3 kids to be honest. I couldn't even take care of myself. I moved back home with my parents. How old are your kids? Are they able to do things on their own or are they very young? If you have someone who could stay with you and help you I think you could do it. It is a very tough and painful recovery to be honest. Good luck.

Please see if a chiropractor and massage therapist can take care of it without surgery.
It is possible that it is caused by muscles being too tight in your back, rump and legs. Muscles tighten up and get tender spots called trigger points that are like knots. They take time but can be worked out.
The best book on pain I have found is The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.

where is the osteotomy going to be on your body?

you are going to be hobbling around on crutches for a week or two to let things heal...you may even have to wear a knee immobilizer
be sure to keep those incisions clean as well...
good luck with the kids...you may need some help
