I met this guy in college. He's from Chicago & both parents are lawyers. He's about 5'5 and 125#.He has long thin black hair, tattoos, and a tounge ring. He wears big baggy clothes, loves to flaunt his parents' money and flashy cars, and drinks and smokes extensively. We talk almost every night online and on the phone. When we do, he expresses how into me he is and how he will do anything for me, he loves me unconditionally, etc.He knows I feel the same way.We don't see each other much in person b/c of both of our overloaded schedules, but when we do, he gets extremely nervous. I mean, to the point of physically shaking. This can even be when I'm doing nothing more than sitting next to him, just talking. He also doesn't say much in person, I'm usually the one that does all the talking. One day, shortly after I met him, after class,he wanted to show me the tattoo on his back. When he took off his shirt, I could see that he was visibly shaking. Why is this?? How can I get him to relax?

I think he is so used to writing his words and having time to think about what he says and the fact you can type something out, look at it, then delete or change it then send it off. He also might have a self esteem problem, and if he can hide behind his computer screen or his cell phone, he has more confidence in himself because he isn't there to feel like he looks stupid or the millions of other things he could think. Try asking him online or over the phone, but because you said it only occurs when he is in person, it might be that he doesn't know what to do. There are millions of reasons why he may be withdrawn, but try asking him about it. All his problems are likely self confidence related. I hope everything works out and Good Luck.

Address this directly with him. Often, talking about uncomfortable things diffuses the tension and dramatically reduces a guy's nervousness.

Also, it's likely that he is inexperienced / a virgin. If so, try to not focus on his shaking and try to overlook it.

HUMOR, laughing, teasing each other and making fun of things is also a great way to reduce nervousness.

Above all, he needs experience and that will come with time.

Honestly... it doesnt sound like nerves to me. He sounds like he is someone that uses a drug like meth or crack. Some users shake no matter what they try to do. And will tell you that they are just nervous. If he really is nervous, then there is not much more you can do other then give it time.

LMAO!

He is an addict and is trying to woo into his web of deceit and lies.

You could get him to relax by taking him to a detox clinic, because his parents won't.

His nervousness is a side effect of the recreational drug he is taking.

PAY ATTENTION TO THE RED FLAGS!

Girl it sounds to me like he is really into you. Just talk to him and tell him to be himself. that there is nothing to be nervous about. If you are into him to..then tell him how you feel maybe that will relax him a little. Good Luck!!

Flashy rich kid? He might have a substance abuse problem. Seriously. That sometimes causes shaking.
