i really like this guy but im not pretty and i'm not slim and he won't go out with me because i don't have the looks. why can't guys look at personality?

If the guy you like won't date you for your personality then he is shallow and why do you like him anyway? Guys CAN look at personality, you just have to find the ones that do and ignore the rest. He isn't it, so I'd say move on.

Not all guys like girls who are skinny & pretty. The reality is, the world protrays only people who are skinny as being the beautiful ones. You sound like someone who hasn't been fooled by all that. Beauty is really in the eye of the beholder. You can be the best looking person on the planet, & be the biggest jerk in the world. True beauty comes from within! If this guy can't see you for the beauty that you are, then he doesn't deserve you anyway!!! Stay strong, and don't waste your time.

well, the way guys' brain works, they are more attracted to looks and physical things at first hand while females tend to use the side of the brain that is most emotional. Now if you were pretty, skinny, AND had personality, you pretty much got any guy wrapped around your little finger. Also, I think they go with the pretty, skinny girls because they like to picture them in bikinis...(trust me, all my guy friends have said this to me....and about me.....but then they stopped acting like that when they realized i was a teen genius(not really, but i'm ahead by 2 grades though, which is kinda smart). Try to become really good friends with him and hopefully after hanging out for a while with him, he'll see that personality is sometimes better than looks.

Because it's a mandate of nature that women who are at their healthiest make the best mothers, and try as we might to deny that un-cool fact, that's why: the slim, pretty girl generally makes the best mate.
Of course, guys don't have to allow themselves to become enslaved by outward appearances, but it takes a few years for a guy to grow up enough that he'll consider a plain girl as a potential mate - and a lot of guys never grow up that much.
Meantime, you can do a lot to even the odds and even tilt them in your favor: visit a professional cosmetologist and learn how to best use makeup. Visit an image professional to learn how best to dress to look your best, even for casual occasions. And learn how to be friendly and nice to be around. You go 'round with a long face 'cause you haven't had many dates and you'll ensure that you never DO have any. Nobody wants to date a sourpuss!
And for gosh sakes, do NOT get any tattoos and don't get body piercings except for a single pair of earrings. Tattoos on women are seen by most guys as "tramp stamps".

You sound astounding. do not be disillusioned over guy's stupidity, you're purely in extreme college. guy's will ultimately advance up and also you'd be more effective than those sticks. not quite everyone has an same choose for a sprig, some men do like curves. i'm not skinny yet I surely have not in any respect been short of guys liking me, you're suitable, you likely do exactly not comprehend what number of human beings have crushes on you.

Same reason you don't like the old guy with the hairy back and smells like cheese. You have to be physically attracted to someone to make it work. Personality is the most important thing but you need both. You want to look forward to seeing them naked. I'm sure you really like him for his looks. Maybe you can fnd a really ugly man and find out for yourself why people need physical attration. You could learn something and you can make a ugly man very happy for a little while.

I can't stand skinny girls and they are not all pretty. Who says you are not pretty anyway. If you have a good personality then you are more than half way there. I like women with some meat on them even though I am a vegetarian.

If that's the case, you really need to let guys know the real you deep within.
Open up more. Show them you've got an awesome personality.
But if they don't see it, means they aren't the one for you.
I believe there must be someone out there can see it!

You should be proud of who you are. It shouldn't matter what others think. And by the way everyone of us is good looking if you didn't know. Work on your low self esteem and gain some confidence it will help you and change your view about yourself. Good Luck
