In the name of ALLAH the most beneficent the most merciful.
A symbol is a sign or a mark that reflects character, emotion or
identity. It ccould be seen as an idol if one attaches divinity to it,
An idol is an image taken as an object of worship or devotion.
A post man is a deliverer of a message,letter,or a materialistic
object from one point of contact to another. He has no idea of
the message that it contains nor has he the right to access this
message
A messenger in spirutal terms is a man appointed by God from
among men to deliver the message , warning or signs from
God.His job is to deliver the message by understanding it and
living it as an example for people to follow.
God has sent to mankind many prophets and messengers
since the creation of human kind. The reason being that
instead of worshipping the one and only one god,Allah the
almighty who is the creator and the sustainer of this universe,
man began to worship created beings and objects of myth &
cultures by fashioning gods of different shapes and sizes and
began to take these objects as their gods.In order to guide
mankind to the truth so that they could be successful in this
world and in the life after death God sent his revelations,
through messengers, whom some are mentioned in the Bible
and the holy Quran like,Noah,Abraham,David Solomon,Moses
Jesus and the final messenger Mohammad [peace be on them
all].These messengers brought one common message that is
There is no other god worthy of worship but Allah.and each
messenger was to be followed in order to reach the creator. It
is interesting to note that these messengers were created
human beings and never claimed to be gods or the sons of
God of claimed any divinity .The messengers also came with
books of revelations which showed the criteria to distinquish
right from Wrong and good from bad, with laws and
commands from Allah , glory be to him.
God revealed to mankind in the holy Quran that his name is
ALLAH which is a unique name as god himself is unique. The
english name God is not unique as it can be corrupted and
changed to Gods or Godess, God father or God mother and
so on.The arabic name ALLAH cannot be pluralised or
gerderised.Allah has also authorised us to call him by his
most beautiful names and attributes like Rehman-the
most gracious. Rahim- the most merciful, and other names
mentioned in the Quran.

A symbol is used as a visual cue for something else. An idol is worshipped upon as if is the god itself.
God has several names depending on which religion you are looking at.

God is the Author and Designer of the symbols. Do not worship the created thing in place of its maker. The Crucifix. Bible, Ark, etc. have one job: To REMIND you of Who you worship.
