I've been having these symptoms and am thinking either a thyroid disorder or anemia. What else could it be? I'm a 17 year old girl if that helps. I know I should just go to the doctor, but my mom wont get me an appt. unless I can find a feasible reason as to why I should go.

-Increased tiredness ( I usually get by on 6 hours a day but lately i've been needing 10-12 or else I can't function)

-Dizzyness (if I get up to fast or turn around quickly i get dizzy/ black out)

-unexplained weight gain (like I woke up a few weeks ago and couldn't fit into my pants. no changes in exersize or eating)

-gas no matter what I eat

-occasional headaches

-acne breakouts (I have a perscription for medicine to contain it, which has always worked until now)

-I can't concentrate at all my mind is always wandering.

I'm always freezing as well. It could be 80 degrees and I'll want a jacket or I'll start shivering in 50 degree weather. I live in upstate, ny so I shouldn't be that susceptible to cold.

Sounds to me like thyroid problems.
Google thyroid problems, find a good info site, and print it out. Then show it to your mom and tell her you have a feasible reason to go to the dr.
When you see the dr insist on a T3 and T4 test, not just a TSH test.
Here's some info to get you started.

get TSH, T4, T3 tests

Other people have suggested other causes of your distress, these should be ruled out also.

Why won't your mom take you to the doctor? You need to go to a doctor and have them run some tests on you. Your mom needs to realize that your health is not something to take so lightly. It could turn out to be nothing serious, but why would you want to take that chance? This is not the place to find out what exactly is wrong with you. When was the last time you had a physical? When was your last pap-smear? You should be going to the doctor every year. When you say "occasional headaches", what do you mean? Everyday.....once a week? Could you be pregnant?

It is possible that you are pregnant? Early pregnancy can explain the tiredness (natural body reaction), dizziness (possibly anemia but also possibly increased blood flow to your uterus), weight gain (body preparing to have the baby), and acne (hormonal change causes this). Your mind wandering is most likely your worrying about this and the other things in your life and the headaches are for the same reasons. I hope you are not pregnant.

I`m not a Doctor.Sounds like you have a ear infection or Low blood pressure, stomach ulcer.Dizzy/black out. These things can cause this condition. You could be very depressed and not know it.You should consult a doctor ASAP.Bleeding ulcers can cause extream tiredness. You could try a Iron supplement for that and try Chamomile tea to rest better at night. You could try pro-biotics or 1Tablespoon of vineger after you eat to help with the gas.Just try to be happy in life and have fun.

Well i'm a 16 year old girl & have anemia & all those reasons u gave sound to be correct except the weight gain most anemic people lose weight & don't have much of an appetite.
this happens to me & i have to eat because it causes me nausea & i get light headed & can't breathe well.. For anemic ppl oxygen doesn't flow through the blood as qiuckly as other ppl so this causes shortage of breath.

This is why you must start taking actions on your own. You're 17 and have patient rights regardless of whether your parents agree or not. Schedule your own appointment and see a doctor. Have a friend take you if need be, or go to a clinic. Either way you're an adult now and you must act responsibly to secure your own health. Good luck and take care.

i don't know much about health- but have you considered diabetes or hypoglycemia?

and tell your mom to take you to the damn doctor. if you feel like you need to go- then do it. don't waste time trying to figure it out on the internet to validate your cause of wanting to go just for her.
