My ex boyfriend wants me back and my mom does not like him at all. He also does not like my family and does not want to stay the night at my house. On other hand a guy that I have been sort of dating told me today that a girl and him started dating today and we should be friends. This guy's mom (his mom and I are good friends) told me that their relationship would not last and he is just confused and he will be back in a couple of days. What should I do someone please help!!

It is VERY important that your parents like your boyfriend and here is why. I know when you are young you don't see it this way, but, unless your parents are complete assholes there is no one in the world that cares more about you and wants your happiness more than them. The fact that he is disrespectful to your parents is a horrible sign.
here's my question for you... why would you want to waste your time with someone that already failed the test at least once (which is why he's your ex right?)?

another helpful tip. Make a list of all of the things that makes this person worth your time and energy. Be honest and ignore things like "he thinks I'm beautiful" and "he loves me"...look at character qualities...like "hard working", "respectful of me and my friends/family", " has a future (career-wise)", "has a good relationship with his own family".
The reason why it is important to look at these things is because if you are not considering him as a marriage potential then why waste your time and risk a pregnancy (if you are having sex) with a man you don't want to have as your husband/father of your children. There are SO many great guys out there... I'm not saying he isn't one, only you know that, and it is YOUR life, and YOUR consequences.

What made your "ex" bf an ex? Why does he want you back and why would you want him back, regardless of what your family thinks of him? Examine your motives closely because I'll bet you can do better. You'll find yourself in a no-win situation if you reconnect with the exboyfriend because you won't enjoy a healthy relationship between him and your family. You'll always have to take sides against one or the other and you won't be able to include him in family celebrations that you would otherwise enjoy. On the other hand, let the current guy be confused with someone else. You don't need these guys to be complete. Focus on yourself. Sometimes having a bf is more trouble than it's worth and this may be one of those times. Try being independent and focusing your attention on you. Join a health club or take a class in something fun or volunteer in some civic project. You'll meet other interesting people and become more interesting and "whole" in your own right. There's nothing more attractive to an emotionally healthy man than a woman with confidence, a degree of independence and self-sufficiency and who has outside interests.

Do not go back to your ex, i just spent 10 years with someone like that and i was very lonely for most of that 10 years. As for the other guy, don't hang around and wait for him, go out and have fun. Be happy being single you have plenty of time to get into a serious relationship. Life is too short to not enjoy every moment of it.

Don't go back to a dud. Ex's are ex's for a reason. Things don't change just because a little time passes by.
Forget the new guy and find someone else. Dont be anybody's backup plan. You should always be a guys nr 1 choice. Not sloppy seconds.

First and foremost you should not be dating anyone until you know who you want to be with. IT sounds to me like you want your cake and eat it too. Why do you have a back up man. Like I teach my daughters everyday...being with a man does not complete you. They are extensions of you but they do not complete you. You should stay single until you figure out who you want to be with. May I ask you a question? How old are you? Don't you think it is disrespectful of your family to have your "boyfriend" stay over at your house? Stop....slow down...and really think. I do agree that it is important that your family like your boyfriend, but the reality is they are not going to like everyone you date. These are boyfriends and not husbands. His mom might just be sparing your feelings, be friends with him of course, be supportive without bashing her out of jealousy and see what happens. You will be a constant in his life, he will be able to trust you, you will be able to see from the outside what kind of person he really is and you may end up together or he may end up a toad....

You must be young, but that's a good thing-enjoy it. Anyways, forget what everone else thinks or says. Do what you want. Whoever you decide to be with must have good qualities that your family will learn to enjoy, if they don't already. Pick the one that you have more feelings for.
