As of right now he doesn't have any ownership. He just had a meeting with the president of DEI yesterday. Today at a news conference he stated he wanted a majority stake in DEI. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

Currently Junior holds no stake in DEI and therefore has no ownership claim. That is one thing that both he and Teresa have mentioned as a possible addition to his contract if they can come to an agreement.
And as for driving the #3 for RCR, he has said many times that it is something that he would want to do at the end of his career, which he doesn't see as being this soon.

The thing that most people over look is that DEI is a lot more than racing. DEI is car dealerships, restaurants, farms and other enterprises. Another thing to remember is that most of these business dealings came about through the work of Teresa who is a sharp business woman. Before Dale's marriage to Teresa there was no DEI. I believe that DEI was set up for Dale and Teresa so they would have something when Dale's racing career was over. Dale Jr has the oportunity to set up his own financial security.

As of right now he doesnt have any ownership of DEI. He wants part ownership but she wont give it to him. If he went to RCR to drive you wont see a black goodwrench car on the track. Goodwrench doent have main sponsership of any RCR car anymore. Also Jr will not be in a #8 car either, since DEI owns that number and Teresa will not sell that number to RCR for Jr to drive.

He doesn't have any ownership in DEI. That is what he wants but Theresa doesn't want to give him. If Theresa is smart then she will give him what he wants which is part ownership of the company that he has kept running for the past years.
Dale Sr built DEI for his children...not for Theresa. I'm pretty sure that Dale Sr is shaking his head in disgust at how she is acting right now. She has become a money hungry woman.
As for Dale Jr driving for RCR in the #3 car. I really don't wanna see him do that. Dale Jr has built his own legacy in Nascar now and if he drives his father's car then that will give the people who really dislike him even more reason to bash him. If he were to go to RCR I would rather see him drive the #8 Budweiser Chevy. Red is his signature color now.

I thought Sr and Teresa built DEI for the family to have a place to race not own.I'm totally on Teresa's side. I think Jr should go to RCR,drive that black car,not win a championship{again}then who's he going to blame? His greedy self

Currently JR. has no ownership BUT Teresa Earnhardt is no dummy ,if she lets JR. slip away DEI. will go on but they will suffer JR. on the other hand will get snapped up by anyone who can appreciate his talent and yes that very well could be RCR. and again I believe BUD will be there as well. GOODWRENCH is now only an associate sponsor . So GOOD LUCK JUNIOR GO GET EM

dale jr. and teresa are trying to work on deal to give him some ownership in dei dale jr. wants to stay with DEI but later in the future he has said that he would like to drive the black 3 for rcr

After reading all the answers on here I feel sick. Dale Sr. could not possibly have left EVERYTHING to the Ice Queen!!!!! Jr. and his siblings surely have some say, don't they? Send Teresa to a volcano, that should thaw the witch out a bit. Jr. needs to step up and fight for what is rightfully his. Dump that step mom and DEI, see how long it would last without #8. BTW, she is dead wrong for not letting Jr. run the #3.

I can not Imagine Dale Sr not having something set up for the kids, after all DEI was built for the kids. Lord only knows what Teresa has done to take away any ownership that his kids(except of course Taylor Nicole) have. Richie Gilmore has said that ownership is whats holding up the contract from being done.
I personally as a long time Earnhardt fan would LOVE to see Junior come out in a black #3. I know alot of race fans, especially Sr's fans would love to see it, but I dont know that Junior is ready for it yet, I think he needs to prove himself as his own man first>
All I know is Dale must be rolling in his grave at what the wicked witch has done to his company. Flushed it right down the toilet.
