He probably stayed out to late last night drinking and then watched TV all day. Tell him to get a job, lay off the booze, and get a good rest and he should be fine.

Definitely take him to a vet. My friend also has a lab puppy and she just took him to the vet last week for the same problem. Turns out the puppy got a piece of pine needle or tree bark in his eye while outside playing. We looked and looked and couldn't find anything in his eye before hand. Luckily the vet was able to remove it before it scratched and caused permanent damage. Also, if it is an infection it will probably get worse if not treated. And if it turns up to be just dry eyes or something simple, you can sleep better knowing pup is o.k. and next time you won't have to worry.

Hard to say. There could be something in the eye, it could be an allergy, he may have injured his eye, etc. I have a chihuahua that gets corneal ulcers and the whites of her eyes get red like that and the dark part gets a blue look about it. I have drops from the vet to put in them when this happens. See how the eyes look tomorrow and if they are still red, take him to the vet for a checkup.

Best to take him to the vet. It's probably just a straightforward conjunctivitis, but he may have a more serious problem such as an ulcer. In any case, conjunctivitis on its own isn't the most pleasant thing to have and the vet can give you ointment/drops to treat the inflammation and make him feel a bit more comfortable.

Could be an eye infection. Take him to the vet for antibiotic eye drops before it gets worse. An untreated eye infection can lead to blindness.
