Walk in--- no way... but you might try contacting the main office of the DMV, and fill out some forms, you might be able to get the info... usually done through the Postal Service...

But, the good news is that there are plenty of online search sites like cars.com that allow you to search for old cars (find the "1982 and older" link on cars.com - the search by year goes back to 1912).

YOU COULD GO TO THE DMV FOR THIS INFORMATION IF YOU WERE A POLICE OFFICER INVESTIGATING A CASE BUT YOU AS JOE AVERAGE CANNOT DO THAT SINCE THE PRIVACY ACT CAME INTO BEING.

uhh no. just look online for sites that have people who list them for sale. get into the swap meets for the car to get to know who is selling when. go to car shows, many are actually for sale there if you just start talking.
