It all depends which type of immigration you are referring to, legal or illegal.
We need to close the borders to everyone right now. This will give us a chance to get rid of the illegals that are here, fix our Health care & Welfare systems. Throw a PARADE, and resume business accordingly.
People have to understand its not just the illegal aliens crossing our borders, its also the criminals escaping through our borders. We need to monitor traffic both coming and going.
After all that is done, we can once again LIMIT legal migration to this country based on our current economy. Right now our economy can not handle the burden of all these illegals, its causing our infrastructure to fail.

Tolerant? We've been more than tolerant towards immigrants that take the legal procedures of becoming an American citizen who come here looking for a better life.

Educated America is on the verge of understanging why we must approach the issue diplomatically. There is more than a few valid and strong reasons why people migrate, even if illegally. There are a few reasons why we have not had mass deportation and why HR4437 failed. The main one being that "we are in the United States" not some other country. Uneducated low class Americans think and run around crying, claiming that illegal immigrants are "taking all the jobs!" "they are taking over!", "they are sending their kids to school and their kids are gonna take over". If an illegal can take your job, what is to be said about you? But overall, I think we are on the right path. We are a great country. We have overcome worse issues, this is an easy one.

Americans have always complained about newer immigrants. They complained about the Germans, the Dutch, the Poles, the Irish, each time insisting that they would ruin the country and it would never be the same. Those dire warnings never came to pass, and neither will the more recent ones.

You Guys talk like the Mexicans are taking something from America without giving any thing back.

We need the immigrants legal and illegal if we didn't other measures would have been taken, because the USA acts in self interests if it was not in their best interest then they would condem illegal immigration with an iron fist.

Our politicians are happy with all of the cheap labor, satisfying their kick-backs. Although, Americans are waking up to this, this mexification is bringing people like me (who could really give a crap about politics) into the debate. This 'quiet' invasion isn't going to slip through in the night, we know what's going on and we don't like it. It's kinda sad, but every time I see a Mexican flag (like at the soccer game tonight) it really pisses me off. I never felt that way until they had all their marches demanding rights and amnesty. I hope the illegals keep making a ruckus, it's waking us all up.

Conservatives tolerate legal immigration, liberals support illegal immigration which produces more crime and drains the economy.
