My parents are having a hard time bonding with me, because im totally different from them. Like personality, lifestyle, likes/dislikes etc.

Im youngest in the family, i have a sister(22) & a brother(19), they both share the same interests, almost same personality & they get along well with their parents, cause they all like the same things, except me.

Sometimes they don't accept what i choose to do, they don't like the type of food i eat? they are very social, im not, they're disappointed with me because i choose to study photography instead of business marketer, lawyer, doctor blabla.

Seeing their disappointing faces all day, makes me feel so guilty.
Should i stay myself or be like them? Though im more comfortable & happy with me, their not. help?

Find a common ground and meet there.
Take pictures of the family. I must agree with the folks on this one . An attornery can afford a much better camera and travel to Japan to use it, where a Best Buy employee only watches Japanese videos.

Family is important son. Talk to a relative about yor feelings. Dont be afraid of being not macho by being aware of your feelings. Study what you want just remember to make" you "happy first before anyone else; including friends and and family.

Definately stay yourself man. It's their problem you want to pick a different career or are interested in different things. Now, I'm not saying it wouldn't be a good idea to look into some of the things your parents suggest, but be yourself.

Talk to them about how you feel. Maybe you can all compromise on activities you enjoy or that they enjoy. It may help both you and them for them to understand more about you and for you to understand more about them. you should not change who you are. Show them what your interests are. be passionate about it but do not shoe it down their throats. and try to show interest in family activities that they enjoy and maybe throw in activities that you enjoy as well. family bonding is very important i mean even if thir activities do not interest you that does not mean you can not have fun doing them. i hope your family will participate in activities that you enjoy. it would be great for them to show interest in your activities because doing so will help them understand you. **** luck

Please ask your parents for some time to talk. You need to tell them what you are feeling. With love and respect from both sides, you will come to a good resolution.

be yourself!! only you can make yourself truly happy, only the things you do can make you happy, only what you are interested in can make you happy!
do not, ever ever feel you have to be like someone else to be accepted.
why would you want to be just like someone else? they should be feeling guilty for ostracising their child
