Read those. You'll learn there is far more to it all than just the sun. I'm a lot like my sun sign, but in a very different way than expected.
However, I get the brunt of all my Capricorn with the "Depression," bit.
EDIT: I'm a Sagittarius sun, but the biggest concentration of my planets is in Capricorn. Luckily my personals [Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars.] are safe from too much earth.

YES! I believe in Vedic Astrology, which does not teach any type of pre-destination; but, that we are born with a certain set of attributes - both good and bad - and we choose which of them to utilize.
In the Chinese calendar, I am a Golden Dragon; and in Vedic, I am Capricorn, with Leo rising, and my moon is in Aries. It fits me very much. I like it because I do choose which of the positive or negative traits to utilize; but, those traits are very much present! My brother is Libra, and it fits him as well. One of my very good friends is a double Cancer, and she is the nest-builder of nest-builders.
For me, I have to 'earn' the right to play, I work hard, and almost invariably climb to the top. I do have a fiery side in emotional areas, and I love to 'play' (especially in romance). There is not much in my charts that I don't recognize - either in western or eastern astrology!

No, it isn't. I don't really believe in it b/c of the fact that it doesn't fit anyone. I know someone who's this, they act like that, nothing fits for any of them, they think, "wow, I get mad sometimes!! That must be me!!"
