Does anybody have any ideas on a a healthy alternative to a lunchmeat sandwhich for my hubby's lunch bucket. I put in a lot of fruits and veggies and stuff, but the sandwhich is the main thing which he eats to keep him from getting hungry. Any ideas on what else that I could give him in place of it. Also, he is trying to lose weight, but I am more trying to get his Cholesterol down. Thanks in advance.

A sandwich wrap is a good alternative. So is soup, or something like that. You want to stick with the lean protien, so if you can keep that in a sandwhich, that would likely be okay.
I pack my husband chicken salads all the time. They are filling, and they have the healthy, lean protien that keeps him going. I make soup a lot, too, and load it with as many veggies as I can, keep the salt I use down to almost nothing, and this fills up hubby too.

Have fun with it, and good luck!

Use pita bread and fill the pocket with turkey and lettuce and tomato and a little low fat mayo and maybe mustard. Stick in a pickle - great sandwich, healthy, filling.

Take a Lean Cuisine frozen dinner - like the meatloaf - cook it, chill the meat and use it as the filler for the sandwich. Cold meatloaf - yum, and yet it's low calorie and low(er) fat.

Check with camping and outdoors stores - they have MRE (Meals ready to eat) which heat themselves - a hot lunch for lunch - and some of them will meet your needs. (Others are way high in salt - you need to check them out carefully.)

Keep the sandwich, just use different ingredients to make it. Believe it or not, there is great tasting, low-fat, low-calorie, and fat-free versions of everything he probably likes in the sandwich...
Fat-free bread, cheese slices, bologna, turkey, etc.

I switched to microwaveable soups for lunch. Convenient, easy to pack, and great for the waistline.
