my hair is blonde after dying blonde for years. now i tried 9 Natural and it turned my hair green! I am going to attempt dying it brown right now to fix it, but can someone offer another opinion or advice before i do? I am afraid of getting brown with a green tint, or worse, my hair falling out.

If you are going to color your hair yourself, stay away from "ash" colors. That is where the green comes from. Go to a darker warm color. Anything that says "reddish" will help tone down the green but don't go too red or you will come up with pink. I know, I have done it! Your best bet is to go to a colorist as soon as possible. Color is very damaging to your hair if done improperly.

I'm a stylist and I am here to help: It sounds as if you picked up a color with an ash base which is where the green hue you are seeing came from. This should be very simple for you to tone to what you are looking for. Like a lady above said you are going to want to get a color with a bit of red in it. What you want to look for (please tell me you still have the box) is a matching level number, what that gives you is a way to make certain that the reddish color you get will not overpower the brunette and give you red hues. Look for a "warm dark blonde" or a "warm light brown" do not leave it on as long as you did the first color maybe like 10 --15 minutes. This will make certain that you don't do much damage and that you keep the color you like in there. Good Luck.

I don't think ash shades are worth the risk, but that's just great hindsight on my part. If you hair is in really good condition color it right away -- use a neutral color or something with a little red in it to counter-balance the green. If your hair is really not in the best condition, then wait 4 days. During those 4 days really condition your hair, so that it is real strong. Then I would use Colorfix-its by Clairol (Its at a beauty supply store) to remove the green, then color a nonash color.

your hair turned green because u more then likely used a ash base color or ur hair was really blonde which means that u had no under lying pigment l would go see a stylist they should be able to help if u try and do it at home u might end up with an even bigger mess
