Well, I just got one about two weeks ago. It was extremely painful and easy to get infected on certain parts of your foot. Just make sure you keep it clean, don't wear anything over your foot for the healing time. The other tattoo I have in on my upper arm, and it was a breeze. This one was probably the worst pain I've ever had. Mine has become infected, and I'm trying to figure out a way to heal it without going to the doctor. Foot tattoos are a great idea, but they are hard to maintain long enough to heal. Just be careful with it, baby it.

i have done this tat a few times and i never understood why the rosary around the ankle? yeah its cute and no it doesn't hurt that bad, but the rosary is never actually worn around the ankle. its around the neck or wrist. most of the time it is carried in your pocket. other than tha, i think it looks sweet on a foot/ankle. go for it. you may be paying for that artists rent or his/her childs lunch money!

I think that it will be very interesting. I have thought about getting one on my foot, just because it will be the first one I get on the lower regions of my body. All my other tattoos are on my arms and back.

Good idea! And yes, it's painful-but not so bad that it will kill you. It is a difficult spot for healing though so do it when you will be able to be barefoot for awhile. Use bacitracin a couple of times a day. I have been slowly getting tattoo's for 20 years and ALWAYS use bacitracin and I have never had an infection. The one that you are talking of doesn't seem too big either. I think it sounds nice:)

i have a mermaid thats 6 or 7 inches from my inside ankle bone, curves down along my arch and the tail comes slightly on top of my foot a couple inches before my toes.,, yeah, i have big feet. anyway, i wouldnt say it was the most painful one i have. ive had some color retouched once, i dont wear shoes very often and when i choose sandals i try to pick something that isnt going to lay on top of her. foot skin exfoliates more than other areas as it is. its been about 10 years or more and she still looks good.

looks good, but because it's on the foot, it might not last long. the foot is used so much that it becomes very hard to keep the colors/shading on the skin. most tattoo places won't re-touch them for free, simply because of that reason.
other than that, i say go for it!

I think that tattoos are cool so don't get me wrong. My sister-in-law had a tattoo on her ankle and she broke it and the doctors had to put metal rods and pins in her ankle (where the tattoo was) and the doctor said that having one there is stupid and wasting money because of the foot is one of the weakest area of the body. Her tattoo is all missed up now because of the surgery even though the doctor tried his best to put it back like it was. It is out of place and crooked and who is going to see it except during the summer time?
I have two tattoo's myself and am going to get more, so I am not against tattoo's. Mine is on my arm and on my back. So please rethink about it before you get it done.

I have a tattoo of a flowering vine on my foot with my husbands initials worked into it. I love it and would have to say it is my favourite tattoo (I have 3). As far as pain goes of the three tattoos the one on my foot hurt the least to have done.
I gather from the comment that 'Sierra' must be the dimwit who gave absolutely everyone the thumbs down. I just want to send a special wish to 'him, her or it' that may they have plenty of daughters who all grow up to have tattooed feet.
