Help!! My sister has a 2 year step-child that takes off her diaper has much as 5times a day, and goes poo everywhere. She even plays in it? Its so frustrating. Her biological mother used drugs when she was pregant. Is there anyone that can give advice on this matter? Is it possible that she is doing this for attention? Do you think we need to take her to a doctor? Maybe she is acting up for a real medical reason? any advice will help my sister! We have even tried to start potty training and that was no luck........ HELP!!!! Thanks!

It could be she hates diapers or hates being dirty and takes them off or is just loving getting what she wants (attention thing, my daughter tried it but I put a stop to it).
Your sister has to be consistent and keep putting the diaper back on and scolding her for taking it off. Keep potty training if it helps but stop if it doesn't (no use getting everyone frustrated). Keep an eye on her and let her know that this is not acceptable behavior and keep at it.
The drugs her mother used may or may not be part of this particular problem but if all else fails get her tested for ADHD, or ADD, if she has either one medication will help her and everyone else deal with her issues. Good luck

I think you should try potty training her to use the toilet and remember to always use REDIRECTION. She may be doing this more and more it seems, because she is responding to the negative response she gets when she does it. WATCH the child closer and give her more personal positive attention. If she wasn't board or left alone with all the time to do this five times a day then she probably wouldn't be able to do that. Start potty training her, give her lots of positive attention, don't leave her alone to do that all the time supervise the child and know what she is doing and where she is all the time, and remember to always redirect, redirect, redirect. If problems continue ask your doctor, but from my childcare experience and what you have said I don't think there is nothing abnormal or wrong with her just the supervision.

It's called the terrible twos for a reason.
Try overalls, onees, or one piece suits.
The child is too little to have ADD or ADHD and you shouldn't medicate a child for the parents lack of supervision or parenting skills.

I have a 4 year old, a 3 year old, and a 10 month old and sweetie let me tell you something it is hard, different children react in different ways and yes it could be just for attention but i dont think that it is medical really shes only 2 tell her to try overalls thats what I had to do with me oldest whn he was in diapers but tell her that it was much easier to potty train when they are like this cause it just means that she doesnt like sitting on it.
