The cutter's mind has had a bold session of psychosis and a logic patch was made to right the personal sailing ship. Under extreme sadness the mind was forced to relearn one or more beliefs. The mind being forced to relearn a belief released some unbalanced chemicals into the spinal fluid that affected the lower or auto brain. The auto brain was then able to reroute the messages of cutting which is damage and shock. The upper brain got the message in the area for a euphoric feeling like an orgasm. This removed the pain chemically from your system and a patch was made and installed as good reasoning. Now every time the brain is depressed and pain results your desire grows to cut to feel good again. Until a strong emotion is found in life to undo this logic patch the brain can't think that it is wrong to cut even though the brain can see the blood. So it is in life whenever a pleasure is discovered the brain will chose pleasure and abandon logical reasoning. Fortunately this disorder is usually gone by age twenty. Nonetheless depression will remain a life issue

from what i know, cutting is a release of stress and anxiety. it is an outlet of all the emotions that feel pent up. the best metaphor i can come up with is a balloon. a balloon is inflated by air (pressure, stress, fear, sadness), and when it is puntured (cut) all the air (bad feelings) are released.

but... cutting is an addictive habit that causes intense emotional and physical damage. not just to the cutter too! if a friend is a cutter, that leaves their friends feeling confused and helpless. they don't know what to do to help the cutter. this can sometimes, ironically, cause the friend to become depressed and consider becoming a cutter too.

the scars left by old habits can cause the cutter (or ex-cutter) to be hindered in making new relationships, making friends, or getting jobs. people tend to judge cutters (or ex) just by their arms. they think, "thiis person is emotionally unstable. i gotta get away from them." this mentality is wrong, but it still s commonplace.

i suggest you save yourself from this future by finding a support group or a close-knit circle of friends. the way i got out of this seemingly bottomless pit was through the support of my friends.

If you love being a cutter I would say you do it for attention seeking. If you really want attention that badly tell your parents about it. I can't understand why you would love doing that to yourself, I hate myself for doing it. I you love it you obviously doing need it to get you through life, so stop. Your just being silly.

Well probably because it feels really good when you cut yourself. It's just like being addicted to drugs, they make you feel good but the effects arent so pretty. Even though cutting yourself feels great, you should really get some help before you end up killing yourself. That wouldn't be a very pretty sight.
There are many other ways of feeling good without doing any damage to your body.

I have a friend that is a cutter. He does it to release his emotions or pain. Just be careful, he has cut too deep on accident. Try finding another way of coping with life stressors.

I don't know for sure, but I cut myself for 4 years.
Different people have different reasons, so know one can give you an exact answer.
I did it to feel the sensation of pain, and to see blood.
Maybe you should talk to a Physician about possible depression,
I suffered from it for years before I finally thought I might have it,
and I did. I'm great now, and I don't even have to take medicine.

Cutting releases adrenaline and dopamine, which relieve stress and cause a feeling of pleasure in an attempt to dampen the pain.

You'll kill yourself eventually, you need some help.
