Okay here it is. This is my cousin whom shall remain nameless. They come over and use my laptop with out asking then they come over and eat my food. Then they are messy (ie leaving dishes laying all over my house). They complained to my mother about me being mad because I missed a phone call. So my mother has the nerve to come and get mad at me. Like I am the bad guy. Then she tells me that I should cater to my poor depressed cousin because omg she might try to kill herself. I mean come on. Am I the bad guy for getting mad because she only comes over to bum off of me? My husband makes a lot of money for the town we live in, but nobody takes into consideration that we have rent, and bills to pay. We also have to eat ourselves. Am I bad for being upset and telling my mother he is more important than anyone else?

Okay I did let her know and she accused me of being greedy when anyone comes over to my house. I am just stuck and can't make anyone happy. I told my husband that if they can't understand how I am then too f*cking bad. I am here to please me myself and my husband.

First of all, you are married and live in your own home with your hubby, therefore you do not owe anyone any explanations. Secondly, your husband's salary pays your bills and for your food and rent so no one has a right to demand anything from either of you. Tell these leeches to get the heck off their butts and make their own way in life. If anyone complains to you about you not supporting these bums, tell them to shut the hell up and tell them that you are sending these people over to them. See how fast they back off and shut up. Good luck!

I agree with the first 2 answers, your cousin has no right to disrespect you, your husband or your household in any manner. You should tell her that she is no longer welcome in your home until she can learn some manners and if your mother or anyone else has something to say about it then you tell her that it is not your responsibility to keep your cousin from killing herself especially if it means letting her trash your house and eat all your food. You, your husband and your bills come first.

No, you're not. Tell your mother that if she's so concerned, then SHE can have them over to HER house. And it's not YOUR responsibility to keep her from killing herself. If she kills herself, it's not going to be because you wouldn't let her use your laptop or leave dishes on your floor. Put your husband first.

Sometimes your mother is right, and sometimes she can be wrong. Your situation seems neutral. Try to satisfy both parties and explain your situation to your mother and let her know what you are going through. I'm sure everything will set it's place.

If that doesn't work, think of yourself first and what is good for you. Your nerves and health are more important.

No, you're not a bad person for getting mad at a cousin that's only around you when they want something from you.

Don't let them in the next time they come over. Simple as that.
