i am going to a plastic surgeon to have a small birthmark taken off the surface of my head. I don't want to be weighed, and I can't be because of a psychologists orders with an emotional problem with it, if I tell them that, what will happen? It is only under local anethesia/

He may need to know your weight for the amount of anesthesia. Maybe have them weigh you while you are not looking. make sure they know you don't want to know either. Keep it in the charts. Or have the Psychologist send over your weight. Good Luck!!!

Doctors still need to weigh you. Imagine if you weigh (just for an even number) 200 lbs. The doctor may estimate your weight around 170. That 30lbs really makes the difference when they're deciding how much anethesia to give you.

Have them weigh you, but don't look at the scale, and make sure they don't say your weight in front of you. Perhaps this would help? I'm terrified of scales also, but it really is best if they weigh you and know how much medicine to give you.

You don't have to be weighed for a local anesthesia. Its just a superficial minor surgery and it doesnt require you to have a whole body going "numb" - that's the case when they would want your weight. So...yes...you dont have to submit yourself to be weighed. OK?

same thing is happening with my daughter, she has a birth mark on her head that is precancerous.
