I was told that a friend's mom had bowel stones and had her bowels removed? I have personally never heard of such a thing. I have tried to look everywhere to this, but I have had no luck. I keep finding information about kidney stones that can lead to inflammatory bowels. UGH Please supply links if you can. Thank you so much.

There is no such thing.

To have bowels removed (we call that a colectomy), you'd likely have either severe diverticulosis, cancer, severe inflammatory bowel disease or a blood vessel malformation causing bleeding.

Diverticulosis is pockets in the wall of the colon. Sometimes little balls of stool can get caught in them, but we don't call those stones. We call it stool.

Polyps aren't stones, they are tumors. Most are benign and wouldn't lead to surgery, but a malignant one would.

Somebody is misunderstanding what they were told.

Hope that helps.

I know that gall stones can move and obstruct the bowel and for gall stones to form after having the gall bladder removed which can obstruct the bowl.

This was a concern the doctors had when my husband began having pain a few years ago.

I hope all is well with your friend's mom.

The "pull out" approach does not artwork, in basic terms an FYI for later in the experience that your bf thinks that'll be sufficient, that's not. UTI's may nicely be prevented actual. After sex use the rest room and pee. The urine is sterile and could sparkling out the urethra of any bacteria that ought to reason a UTI. women human beings should be continuously doing this because it really is complication-free for bacteria to get in there, quite from all the rubbing. also, be sure once you've a BM that you at the instantaneous are not wiping in the route of the front, as you're shifting the fecal bacteria round your genitals and that factors you with UTI's as well. you may be pregnant. inspite of if the constructive line is amazingly faint, it detects the being pregnant hormones purely launched even as pregnant. I say flow see your healthcare professional to make certain.

Yes I have heard of bowel stones and yes they can be removed.
However they just remove the stones and not the bowels.
After all if you had your bowels removed you would truly be full of sh*t
