One of the reasons your boyfriend chose you is probably because of your younger age. He's attracted to younger women. Telling you to grow up is probably not what he really wants, but it's a way of controlling you. If you "grew up," you would most likely be less attractive to him. From what little you have told us, I would imagine you are more mentally mature than he is. Telling someone to "grow up" is a childish thing to say.

You cant just grow up. It happens on its own over time as you experience life. He has to realise that you are 7 years younger then him and you are acting your age. Dont change for him, just be yourself and do what feels natural. My bf is also 7 years older then me and I have been with him now for 5 years and started being with him a little younger then you are now and he said the same things that your bf is saying. However, I have now overtaken him in the "act your age" status. I now own my home etc and he is far from catching up!

(Turn 25) Come on you are 18 ... 18 year olds are new at adult hood that is the same as telling a 13 year old to get ready to go to college and start driving. Sounds to me he needs to grow up, he should know what it was like for him at 18 , he just being a jack-***

Age is not a number it is the experiences in life that makes you what u are. You are 18 but you are a female and females grow up faster than males do. So maybe he is the one that needs to grow up. It depends on why he is saying this to you.

Find a boyfriend who is 19. You are probably behaving as most 18-year-olds do, but not as most 25-year-olds do. He should accept you where you are or move on. Eventually that age difference will be very slightly noticeable, but right now it's probably obvious that a person of college graduate age is dating a person of high-school graduate age. It's to be expected, nothing wrong with it.

You cant and he should know this. you are who you are until you hit a certain age there is no "growing up" it comes with age and exoeriance. My bf tells me to grow up too...but im 19 and he is 41. When we fight sometimes he will later come up to me and apologize and tell me he sometimes forgets how old i am and that it isnt my fault the way i act sometimes.

It depends on how you act when your around him, do you act your age or do you act like a child? But try acting more like your age maybe, it might help. Good Luck!

Just tell him that just because you're younger than him, doesn't mean you're immature or not "grown up". Did you do something to make him feel that way. If he's saying it in a rude or hurful way, tell him.
