The HEAT of the waterbed is terrific for back spasms!!! BUT, the waterbed itself DOESN'T GIVE ANY BACK SUPPORT!!!! Hence, you are defeating the purpose!! They do sell HEATED pads that go on top of your regular bed..... however, I do not know if they work well!!

I have spasms & MOIST HEAT does help the most. If I remember right, they do make motionless waterbeds that support your back much better.

As far as waterbeds go, THINK HARD ABOUT BUYING ONE!! They are a royal PAIN IN THE BUT to put together, to move, & if they spring a leak!!! You also have to wait for them to heat up for a couple of days before you can even sleep on them. AND if they leak, you have to DRAIN out all the water, patch the hole, put the water back in the bed, and wait all over again for the bed to become warm enough to sleep on!!!

I dealt with that for about 2 years?? However, I just got sick & tired of messing with the leaks & having to watch EVERY SINGLE little thing that might just puncture the bed!!!

We love waterbeds... and have slept on them for over 30 years...
My parents are in their 80's and still sleep on one.. They swear that it is the best thing they have ever had and have less aches and pains than ever before...
