About 6 months ago I noticed a very mild pain between my left hip and belly button and have been feeling it off an on since. I don't feel the pain most of the time and I only seem to feel the pain when I press on the area in a certain way, sometimes if I press down there is no pain but if I rub the area I notice it. It feels like it is on the surface, and is always in the same area. The pain also seems to come and go, one week it is there the next its gone but it hasn't gotten more intense since the first time I noticed it. It hasn't caused me enough trouble to bother going to the doctor, I am perfectly healthy otherwise, but I am quite curious as to what the hell the cause of it is.. Any ideas? Should I see a Doctor?

It's not your appendix because your appendix is on your right side,,,,,,,,,,
Believe it or not it could just be your colon......Your bowels could be just working....This may sound strange but see if the next time you have some pain if you just need to go !!

This pain could be the onset of appendicitis. Your appendix is an organ that it attached to your lower intestine. For most people it remain dormant and you live your life without problems. For some people you appendix can burst. If this happen you will need to have surgery, right away. The fluid contained within is toxic and can cause major problems. Appendicitis can be the sharp pain you are experiencing. It may come and go but most likely you will need to have it removed. Don't worry it is not major surgery and you should be able to go home in one to two days after it is removed

Go to the doctor. It may be nothing more than gas, but pain is actually a good thing -- it tells us when something is not right! Hope you feel better...

Maybe it is your kidney and you might have kidney stones, but it doesn't really sound like it. Or maybe you have some kind of digestion problem that keeps your food near that area and doesn't go anywhere for a while, but don't take my advice seriously I advise you to go to the DOC!
