i HAD public restroom phobia for a long time, i'd hold it for 9 hours till i got home when i was young and in my 20's. But as you age, you cannot hold it that long.
I also lived close to work once, and would go home on my breaks!! ha-ha! it's true!
even my b/f comes home early from work if he has to go real bad!!
it's just more comfortable at home, you have your own tp, and it's a clean toilet and you know who's sat on it.
I hate public bathrooms!!
they are full of funky germs and bad smells.
one job i worked at this one gal would always pee all over the seat!!
Goodness, use a seat cover and flush with your foot, and use a paper towell to open the door!!! yucky smells and paper on the floor!
worse yet, how about a GAS STATION BATHROOM???
76 has the cleanest bathroom by the way!!

I have such a huge phobia of going into public restrooms. Not so much because of the possibility of germs on every surface but because of stage fright. I hate using the restroom when there are other people in there at the same time. Hate it!

It's natural to feel uncomfortable. Anthropologist Elliot Oring has done an ethnography on the culture of peeing. Based on his work one sees that urination practices really are an intricate dance.
For example, if one stall is occupied, another individual who wishes to urinate must be at least one stall away from that person. Meaning, if someone is in stall 1, the next person skips stall 2 and occupies stall 3. Also, men usually stand at least an arms distance away from one another at urinals. Looking up and forward are the only acceptable ways to look without being thought of as abnormal.
Many men are stated to feel great anxiety at the thought of "dribbling" urine on their clothing after shaking and returning their unit into their pants. That may be TMI, but I just want you to know that being uncomfortable in public restrooms is normal.

Not if I gotta pee, but if I gotta do the other thing I don't really like it. Even though it is a restroom and that's what it's there for, there's still a little bit of embarrasment at leaving a stink, I always hope there's no one waiting to use it when I had to do that!

Yes sometimes it can feel a bit wierd. I used to be quite scared of using public restrooms but I got over it once i realised that EVERYONE pees and EVERYONE poops and EVERYONE farts....and a restroom is where you do all that. Also most people are more interested in going to the toilet themselves rather than listen or even take notice of what someone else is doing in their cubical or urinal. I mean it would be kind of dodgy if someone was remotely interested in the sound of your piss :P
And also by the sound if it if everyone ELSE is terrified of going to the toilet at a restroom are they going to be even taking ahint of notice of what you are doing? No they will be engulfed in their own fear :P

Once I had to pee really really bad at a movie theatre and the urinals were way to close to each other. I walked up to the only empty one (in the middle) and could not pee because other people were just too close. After the movie I went home and peed for like 2 minutes I swear to God.

I like public restrooms becuz they relieve me in my time of need if I am downtown or at a restauarant or wherever. If the toliet seat is dirty and it's the only stall left cuz everyone is hogging the rest then put some toilet paper on the seat. WARNING: I have fallen in once thanks to the toliet paper on the seat. lol. : )

UGGG I hate those! I mean, I dont work because I have school and all, but public toliets suck so much. But what's funny is that everyone says they hate public toliets, and then if no one used public toliets anymore, they would be all clean, and people get annoyed at other people cuz they think they are making toliets messy, but really, it could just as easily be them! Haha that was confusing lol.
