hi i have a program on cd,everytime i start the program, the cd is needed...how could i copy this file into my hard drive so that i could start the program without the origonal cd..is there any programs to do this and should i copy the files into the directory that the program is installed to?

Depends if it a copy protected CD.

If it is copy protected, you would need a crack that would enable it to operate without the CD. This may have legal implications under the DMCA, but if you aren't sharing it, no one will come after you, and I don't think a court in the world would convict you.

If it is not copy protected, you might be able to copy it to your hard disk and run it from there. I would copy it to a separate folder from where ever it is installed.

Copying the contents does nothing. You need a virtual drive. Alcohal 120% is good and free but make sure you know what your doing first! I couldn't figure it out. But I just uninstalled

Please create a folder in your HDD and then open your CD Drive and copy all the files ( select one file and press CTRL and A button simultaneously and press CTRL and C simultaneously again) now paste it in that folder (CTRL and V button simultaneously)

Virtual cd..make sure its iso format 1st or something like that
