I have reddish brown hair and want to dye it black. My split ends are all over and I cut them when I can but I can only do so much...

People's views are mixed, so do you think dying my hair black will mask the damage of split ends (making it look healthier and less damaged), or make them stand out more (seeing as how the splits are naturally white and I would be dying it black)?

Please no one just tell me to go to a hairsresser. I don't have the money for a pofessional cut/dye and thats why I'm asking here!

well i personally think that split ends are VERY noticible on blondes... can't think of anyone with split ends and black hair so caan't help you with that.

Why don't you get someone you know to just give it a quick trim.........

And stop straightening it if you already do!!... Damages hair a LOT. and will just make the split ends worse..

One, dying the hair will weaken it further because a chemical process damages the hair cuticle and dries the hair. Two, keeping your hair trimmed will help the ends clean and help prevent split ends. Three, split ends come from stressed hair - start taking your vitamins, drink more water, condition your hair with a moisturizer and that will help minimize the look of split ends.

First, try to understand that lack of life your hair black is drastic to say the least. Black dye takes the longest to leave the hair, it really is absorbed extremely properly. And it really is totally puzzling to flow over effectively, so that you'll be able to ought to make stronger it out to do away with it. i do not imagine the black is going to make a chop up look better effective. And splits are not white, they purely seize better mild reason there is better floor area to bop mild again to you. Your best wager is to trim, trim, trim. Trim for all time. Trim two times a month. maximum hair grows at a cost of 0.5 an inch a month. So.... Oh and be gentle so that you do not create better splits. No blow drying or in case you ought to on cool air, 10 inches remote from hair and in hardship-free words till eventually it really is style of damp. and do not brush or comb or tug on your hair at the same time as it really is moist. That stretches the hair making it fragile. And use a product with silicone on the perfect 2 inches. it ought to help in making issues look better effective. Be variety on your hair and shortly it is going to look that is better again.

It would make them look worse. Not to mention that if your hair is damaged already, it can make your hair look totally fried, thin or even fall out. I would never dye my hair that dark by myself, it's going to end up looking like you took a black Sharpie marker to your head (think Ashlee Simpson in the "Pieces of Me" era). A good semi-permanent dye in a color just a hint darker than your actual hair will condition and liven up your color, making the dead ends less prominent.

No it makes them less noticiable. Split ends look really bad especially on blonde hair. Dying it darker sometimes helps make your hair look healthier
