If it was a girl, I'd ask politely if I could take the seat next to her.
If it's a guy I'd kick him in the nuts, then grab his head as he leans forward in pain and slam his face onto the floor of the aisle, and knee him in the ribs until he coughs up blood. Then sit down.
P.S. don't thumbs down me!!

Do what animals do and mark your territory. Before you leave your seat, put something of yours on or under it. A sweater draped over the backrest or your gloves on the seat are sufficient to let others know the seat has been taken and that you will be back shortly.

your question lacks details:
did you pay for a reserved seat? if so politely explain that you paid for this seat.
did you vacate a public seat for 1/2 hour and expect it to be there when you returned? That is rude.
If you had a sweater drapped over the seat while dancing - then also explain that you had been sitting there.
Unless paided for as a reserved seat as in a opera, seats are not reserved.

If it's your seat, that's my seat! But if it's not your seat, find another.

Depends if there are plenty of other seats or not. If there are, I just sit someplace else, but if all seats are taken I'll say something.

I think you should ask for your seat back. But, don't mean about it because that will get you no where. If not get a another sit. but, you might just get your sit back if you ask nicely.

find another seat, there is no reason to start a conflict if it isn't really necessary.

I HATE when people take my spot, especially if you have claimed a spot fot a few days and someone decides to switch. But I just take another one without a fight

Depends.
If its at home, or at a relitives house, we say stuff..because we say stuff like "seat check!" and stuff like that...but people take it and we say "hey thats mine, i called seat check!" they get up.
But if its in a public place, like at an airport, bus stop, ect. i won't say anything.
