For those of you who are financially stable, no children and all of your friends are getting married. How do you handle the loneliness? What are some of the things you do to occupy your time and make your life more meaningful?

I am 27 y-o, financially stable, no children and my family lives far away. My last two single friends are getting married this year. I am so happy for them but at the same time I'm like "OMG, what is wrong with me?". For the first time in a longtime I am feeling so overwhelmingly lonely. Anyone out there feels the same way?

I feel the same. I've always been the "single" friend. There when there isn't a boyfriend around. I try not to be bitter or mean, but sometimes it sucks really bad. There are times that I get very lonely. I hang out with family, friends (single and taken). I go to movies, read, do things for me.

I know the feeling all too well. I' am always the habitually single but independent woman in my group of friends/family. I agree you don't need a man to complete you or define you. I find it better to have hobbies and activities I enjoy doing in my spare time like taking classes, traveling, dating for FUN, getting a puppy/kitten, etc., finding new friends I can relate too, and still hang out with my family and married friends. It is just about finding balance and fun in your life until you are ready to let someone into it. In the meantime, be a fabulous fun, single, sexy, strong, independent, and fearless woman taking on the world.

As the witty Samantha(Kim Cattrall) on Sex and the City once said, "When in doubt, buy a good vibrator." LOL

Sorry, hon, but I DON'T need a man to complete me. I don't need a man for anything, except occasional sex. My life is made meaningful by the pursuit of my career and the time spent with my friends. You act as if no one can be truly fulfilled unless they're seeing someone. Well, it's completely untrue.
