Windows Vista uses DirectX 10,
So to get the best performance you need a DirectX10 compliment graphics card.
OH!
They have NOT made any yet!
But never mind, there is NO DirectX 10 software either!
Vista, HA!
Check the manufacturers websites for Vista updates, to date only 20% of graphic cards will work with Vista!

That is depends on the motherboard. If you got a AGP slot, or a pci slot or a pci express slot. but on price you can find good deals at www.ttmstempien.com Hope that helps
