You have a good question, but there are professed christians who are hurtful in their comments and answers. That bothers me more than the non-believers' remarks.
I enjoy reading other peoples opinions of the Bible, even if I don't agree with their interpretation.

The Bible was revised by the Pagan Roman emperor Constantine, to paganize Christianity, also the Roman pagans changed the birthday of the Christ (Messiah) to the birthday of the ancient mythological idol, Mithra.
The contradictions in the Bible are so vast, that many Christian scholars have pointed them out, and different Bibles have been reassembled.
However, the Bible is not completely false, there is much of the original bible mixed with the words of the pagans. The Bible even says that such times will come about that a new messenger from God will be needed to guide the people to the true message of God, after it has been corrupted, to finally spread the true news from God to the world. This comforter, as he is known has already descended and spread the final revelation, and the forces of evil have done much evil in the world and blamed it on the followers of the last prophet, but many people have found out the truth about the framing.

Your point is noted, and you have some good points that you bring out here, but I would just add to thewhen you attack the Bible you hurt people's feelings, but most importantly God is the one who is hurt by these nasty comments more than any one else so you could say then that these attacks are actually on God and his word the Bible, and these attackers are making themselves enemies of God, and in the end they will not prevail, the Bible has been attacked in many ways on many occasions, it has had attempted to destroy the Bible, and if it were not God's word then people would have been able to carry this destruction of the Bible out, but this has not prevailed, the Bible is still available, and there is not one place in the earth where it is not available to people no matter how remote the area is! Is this not what you would expect from the word of God?

This is not the Christian only board. This is the religion and spirituality board. I frankly don't care what the bible says and would love to learn from the other religions but the Christians won't let anyone else post anything without attacking the person posting with things like "You need to find god" even if that person already has their own religion.
Come into a Wiccan thread sometimes and see how much preaching goes on there from Christians. You'll see what I'm talking about.

I for one am interested in what the Bible says.I read the Bible daily. There are people that like to attack Christians because they don't believe in the Bible. The scripture says Those who are persecuted because of righteousness---theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Matthew :5-11&12 are part of the beatitudes. I enjoy the Bible and I do not enjoy attacking others that dont. That is up to them. Check this out: "I would rather be hated for the man that I am than to be loved for the man i am not" Amen. God bless you

i have had about 7 violations on R&S my account was deleted, and all i was doing was quoting the bible. well? for the most part.
i never saw how I violated the TOS until i actually found the LEGAL double talks, NO ONE who quotes the bible, I FOUND, can go without Offending someone. So, what i say today might be offensive to someone or anyone, but what i say is not spoken in hatred.
So whose feelings have i hurt, or offended?
my sole intent was to share my life long experience and knowledge of the scriptures, not necessarily cram it down peoples throats, but some people just like to hurt other people. Others just cant handle the truth and are turned to Fable, others know the truth, but reject it anyway and condemn the messenger. as it has been all the time.

First, let me say that I am a Buddhist and that properly falls under the heading of religion and spirituality. I very seldom make any responses to questions in order to attack another persons beliefs but sometimes I do challenge the logic that underlies te question.
I have read the Bible twice but could not find any consistancy in the reasoning behind the behaviour structure it recommends. I have no issues with the commandments or the spirit of love and charity which is often expressed in the New Testament but find the vengance and wrath of the Old Testament to be oppressive to the spirit. Statements like "He who believes in me shall..." carry an implied threat in my mind and my belief structure does not handle this well. I consider that one is judged by ones actions and that I am the best judge of my actions. I cannot lay off responsibility to God or rely on belief only without the correct actions which should form part of a life. Debating whether the Creation story in Genysis is literaly true or that the seven days is a metaphor because God created the day and night and could vary their duration at his whim is not in my opinion spirituality if it means that you can still go out and axe murder somebody.
Our feelings are hurt when our belief structures are attacked because we have a strong attachment to our beliefs. We have to because they are "ours" and as beliefs they are unprovable other than by saying they are "self evident" or they "stand to reason". When two or more groups hold opposing opinions to what is self evident it is logically to assume that at least one group is wrong. As flawed human beings, it is self evident to us that the other group is wrong.
I sincerely apologize if you regard anything I say as an attack on you or your beliefs but if what you are seeking is unquestioning agreement to the validity of your views I think that life will probably continue to disappoint you. There will always be those who seek only to destroy as there will always be those who seek to understand.

Oh seriously! Two "Why do people hate Christians so much" type questions on one page!
Having some tripe like "In God We Trust" on my money when it is blatantly false and a slap in the face to the Constitution of this free nation sure hurts my feelings, but no one seems too concerned about that, eh?
Come back when you know what real discrimination and attack are.

Christ did not say, "Sit down and write Bibles and scatter them over the earth, and let every man read his Bible and judge for himself." If Christ had said that, there would never have been a Christianity on the earth at all, but a Babylon and confusion instead, and never one Church, the union of one body. Hence, Christ never said to His Apostles, "Go and write Bibles and distribute them, and let everyone judge for himself." That injunction was reserved for the Sixteenth Century, and we have seen the result of it. Ever since the Sixteenth Century there have been springing up religion upon religion, and churches upon churches, all fighting and quarreling with one another, and all because of the private interpretation of the Bible.
One cannot have God for his Father, who will not have the Church for his Mother, and likewise, one cannot have the Word of God for his faith who will not have the Church for his teacher. It is the infallible teaching authority of the Church, as promised by Christ, which alone preserves God's Word from erroneous interpretation.
It is Divine Faith alone by which we give honor and glory to God, by which we adore His infinite wisdom and veracity. That adoration and worship is necessary for salvation.

I've read the bible several times, in several different versions. I know what the bible says.
I also know how christian apologists try to soften the "hard parts" of the bible. I know their arguments of strained context and creative translation.
Bottom line IMO, this is too much spin for what is supposed to be the inerrant word of god.
