Well obviously you should protest it! Did you? I have always wondered what would happen in that situation. I cannot imagine how you would test positive if you really do not use though. Do you do any other drugs?

Tell him the medication you do use, and have yourself retested. Go to another lab ot doctor if necessary,
Yee gads! Will I test positive?
I have read that amoxicillin will cause a false positive for cocaine. If it does, what can I do? I don't use drugs and I don't want to get a positive test. Help!
Wanna test clean
Docpotter's Reply:
I don't know if amoxicillin causes a false positive for cocaine. *A false positive is when you test as if you used drugs when you didn't.* However, you don't want to take any chances.
You cover yourself by disclosuring your use on the forms you must fill out when being tested. Then, if you get a positive test, your results are sent to a Medical Review Officer (MRO) who is suppose to interview you about why you tested positive. You tell about the amoxicillin and show your prescription. The MRO is authorized to send a positive result as a negative if he or she buys your story. Why not? It sounds perfectly reasonable.
Alternatively, to hopefully avoid the false positive altogether, along with the hassle and potential suspicion, you could cease taking the amoxicillin (with your doctor's ok) for several days, to a week or two prior to the test (ask your doctor how long to abstain), flush your system by drinking a lot of water for a few days before the test and the day of the test.

When you're tested for cocaine, they do not look for cocaine. The name of the metabolite they look for is banzalqualone.I'm not allowed to post links but do a search for that word and things that may make it show up in your blood stream.Poppy seeds are supposed to make you test positive for opiates but that's a myth.
Try doing a search for metabolites of cocaine use or something similar. It may give you some more information.
Ask to be rescreened or for a more thorough form of testing.Gas chromtagraph mass spetrometry is definitely the most accurate but also the most costly. If there is a financial loss at stake or something similar you may be able to contact your state for legal aid. They will have the proper testing done if you qualify.Good luck with that. You are not the first person to have this happen.

A lot of foods and medicines cane give you a positive test. wait for a while let your system clear don't eat poppy seeds, stick to the basic seasonings.
If you are on any meds research them to see if any of them can give a false positive. It depends on which method of testing they used some or more specific than others. In some less specific tests Ampicilan can cause a false positive for cocaine
They could have mixed your sample up to. It has happened before. Depending on where they have you leave the sample

ok I will assume you are hoinest. now then it is a known fact that too much poppy seed dresing will cause one to fail a urinalysis. so I would be looking into other things you may have ingested that could cause this. are you taking prescribed medications? Check the internet. Did you ask your doctor what else or is he quick to assume the worst. Remember doctors arent perfect. thats why doctors call it a practice. If there are legal ramifications I would demand a second test done by a different doctor.

You could've eaten something that had a cocaine ingredient in it. Kind of like a poppy seed bagel can help in a positive test for opium. But I'd get a second opinion if I were you.

You immediatelly as for a second test and reasure the doctor that you don't take cocaine. Also trace your daily steps and see where you could possibly come in contact with any sort of drug. At work, home... anywhere that might help you.

certain things can cause false positives (poppy seeds in particular), i know that happened to my aunt because she used to eat a poppy seed muffin everyday and then failed some preemployment drug tests before she found out why. do a little research and figure out if there is anyhing youre doing that may cause you to test positive for cocaine, or just redo the test and see what happens

Amoxicillin, an antibiotic is known to cause false positives for cocaine. Otherwise, dispute the test, retain an attorney, and sue them.
