There are a lot. One of the most pervasive is uncleaned exaust from fossil (coal) fired furnaces burning high sulphur coal. Cars that need tuning. Cars without catalytic converters. BarBQ's, lawn mower engines. And on and ON and ON.

you may need to look up stats and stuff, but basically the industrial revolution is when more and more fossil fuels were being used and burned, adding more toxins to our atmosphere that rain would bring to the ground. Try a EPA website or greenpeace. Hope it helps!
