Hey I have been to Paris and you have nothing to worry about with the dollar being 76 cent per Euro so your money will go further than an american going to France. I'm sure you can find way more than enough places to stay at for under 70 USD about 53 Euro.
Budget motels Like Motel 8 of or Motel 6.

You should check out the Highland Gardens Hotel. It's right in hollywood a block off of Hollywood Blvd. It's only $99 a night. Now, it's not fabulous or anything, but it's cheap and you can't beat the location!! They made a movie about the hotel called "Camp Hollywood" and it's also where Janis Joplan died (room 105).

If you're really on a budget, consider hostels or even the YMCA.
Otherwise, a motel like Motel 6 will probably be the cheapest you will find in LA.
