Make sure you drink lots of water. The fiber draws water into the system, but if you don't drink enough water, there isn't much for it to bring in. Also, you don't absolutely HAVE to go every day, but even 3 to 4 times a week is still acceptable. If it is that you're on the 3 side rather than the 2, I'd still say you didn't have too much to worry about.
Other than that, you can still try eating prunes or whatever, but since you already get a lot of fiber, there's no need. Maybe some castor oil could help too. And if there's impaction of the stool... an enema.

You should really discuss this with your physician. If you're getting enough fiber the foods that you eat should be expelled within 72 hours of consumption. The best test is to eat some corn and pay attention to when it comes back out again. it is not normal to only go a couple times a week. Not if you're eating regular meals.
Also, some medications can stop you up if you don't drink enough fluids (vicodin is one of them).

unless you're constipated, then i wouldn't worry about. in any case it's never a bad idea to hydrate properly. everyone's bowel regimen is different, some go just once a week, some go daily. a good measure of whether you're getting enough fiber in your diet is if your stool floats in the bowl, so take a look before you flush. routinely taking a look at what comes out of you is as important as watching what goes in...
